Swenson retired as a teacher. According to IPERS laws, he had to "resign" and be away from the program for a certain amount of time (a few months). Technically he has to reapply. Just a formality.

Swenson is not going anywhere - Valley has exact same staff as last year with one addition, Kahlil Carter-former Drake assistant. Valley lacks a QB at the start of nearly every year and seems to figure it out.

Rocky Lombardi will start at QB. Taylen Alexander (sp?) has left the WDM school district.

Yeah, it is pretty common for coaches who want to retire from teaching, by state law they have to re apply for their position.
