previous coach took a principal job at MOC.Why's Sheldon open?
Don’t know much about Bollers as a coach. Why him over the Mt. Vernon coach?I'm pretty surprised Bollers didn't get the CCA job.
I simply thought that CCA at some point would want some continuity with their coaching staff. The fact that program hasn't been able to win has to lie at the feet of the community and administration.Don’t know much about Bollers as a coach. Why him over the Mt. Vernon coach?
Good points, I keep waiting for them to start winning more. They have some potential.I simply thought that CCA at some point would want some continuity with their coaching staff. The fact that program hasn't been able to win has to lie at the feet of the community and administration.
The guy has been around the program, knows the game, has a good pool for assistants. Having said that, it seems like they found a quality hire.
Maybe they will form a co-op team with lincoln, Roosevelt, hoover, and North. That way they can compete with the burbs. They already share a stadium. Just a thoughtDes Moines LIncoln hired an interim. Can't believe they don't think they could find a coach in March with brand new facilities and an all-state running back returning.
But alas. Des Moines North also hired an interim.
This is true as he took the principal job back at North LinnI heard that Brendan Schott has stepped down as Center Point-Urbana HC.
I think coaches are looking long and hard from how the previous coach was basically let go. I hate to say it but their seems to be to much Thomas influence in this coaching job and that is not helping finding a good coach let alone someone who wants to run their program and not how it was run in the past. As far at the NP coach I heard he took a job at Maq Valley witch is an interesting hire as I don't think any connection there but I don't think he was a teacher at NP or maybe he doesn't teach at all witch is not uncommon anymore for coaches.Nashua-Plainfield is looking for a HC
Still nothing on Aplington-Parkersburg?? I figured they would have hired someone by now, that's been open a long time.
I saw that the old NP/ new MV coach's wife is from that area so that is the connection. I also saw that he teaches/taught at Charles City, I know that school district is a less than desirable place to work so that might be a push towards him leaving as well.I think coaches are looking long and hard from how the previous coach was basically let go. Oh my gosh...what a mess!!hilarious update on Perry…sounds like the new coach/AD that was hand picked by the Supt got into a battle of wills with each other over what S&C program would be used. Sounds like the Supt picked his program and the new coach/AD resigned. People in community were not happy with the original hiring process so it now has blown up in the superintendent’s face. Rumors are that he approached an internal candidate that he had turned down before and they told him to get bent.
Perry doesn’t need any more messes. Hoping they get things figured outOh my gosh...what a mess!!
I don’t remember if I shared this but from what I was told, the school board wasn’t very happy with how the administration handled things. They were fairly blindsided when Pollock announced he was asked to step downGood for the AP school board, to me this is the correct decision. I really wonder what they will do now?
Coach Pollock never should have been asked to resign.
Many schools don’t let the AD much less a principal be a head coach, and he’s going to do two sports.Update to the update: The AP school board had a “reconsideration special meeting” and Aaron Thomas will be the head football coach on an interim basis
Generally they give an "interim" tag as its so late in the school year that they do not have an teaching positions available so that significantly limits the pool of candidates. Plus, you don't have much time to post a position, interview candidates and then get them to start before summer workouts begin that its better for your program to have an assistant run the program for a season on an interim basisDid Ames finalize on their head coach? I think I saw somewhere that it was another interim deal... with all these schools doing interim tags- what does that specifically mean? Basically they are on a "try-out" perspective or what are everyone's thoughts?
Does anyone know the story behind the Linn Mar guy leaving? It seems super late in the game for this.Iowa City Liberty promoted Scott Chandler to head coach. Did anyone know that was open? Also, Linn-Mar is looking for a head coach. My guess is an assistant will get promoted.
