Team Strengths:
Three returning starters
Question Marks:
Rebounding
Overview:
They be known as a wrestling school but West Branch hopes to continue turning
things around on the basketball court. The team sports a new coach and
will likely have a new look. One player who is returning is their leading
scorer, Caleb Walter. This junior averaged twelve points per game last
year and also quarterbacked the football team to another district championship.
Walter is among the top players in the Eastern Iowa Hawkeye Conference and will
likely increase his numbers. He must stay composed during games but is a
load to stop inside because of his size and strength. Other returning
starters include Andrew Murphy and Brady Eagle. Both will need to step up
their game so that Walter doesn't receive double and triple teams all year.
