Team Strengths:
Experience, chemistry, and depth
Question Marks:
Inside presence
Overview:
With so much talent returning, IowaPreps.com has Pleasant Valley rated in our
pre-season poll as the #3 team in Iowa. Four starters are back and will be
even better. It is a senior dominated team that should have taken notes
from what Bettendorf did in the MAC conference last winter. The high
scorer for the Spartans is Brian Larson. This senior is one of the top
shooters in Iowa and earned All State honors after helping the team to a 19-4
finish. Also don't sleep on Brett Greenwood, Matt Ryder, and Brandon
Morris. Greenwood is one of the best athletes in Iowa and will always
defend the other team's best guard. Ryder is very underrated but has
played extremely well over the fall. Morris may be a little small in the
post but makes up for it with effort and hustle. The Spartans are the
early favorite in the MAC conference but must be able to beat another talented
Bettendorf team if they hope to make the State tournament.
