Class 1A Season Outlook

Dike will reload and still be fine, maybe not title contenders, but still a quality team. I think the big question for whether or not Grundy can make it four in a row is if West Lyon drops down or not. That is the type of team who could beat Grundy Center, big and physical, the teams who have challenged them the last 3 years, and beat them in the last 6 have been able to compete with them up front, I don't think anyone in the last 3 years has beaten them up front, but their close games against DNH, Waterloo Columbus, East Buc, those teams were at least competitive with them up front, and when they lost to Regina and West Hancock those teams beat them up front.
Hancock beat them up front, and grundy wore East buck down, most small schools won’t have a Cody Fox type either. Regina threw the ball all over grundy, and dike did well in the passing game last night. I think opening up the passing game is the key to beating grundy.

iPhone question

What’s the best bang for the buck?
I pay cash so I’m not looking for a carrier that offers a free phone or whatever scam they’re pushing. Verizon is my carrier and the wife doesn’t need the most recent fancy phone, although I’m not ruling one out. She’ll be happy with whatever I give her or ….. you know…..

So what iPhone do y'all recommend?
My brother is the GM for two Verizon stores in north AL and will hook you right up.

SPOILER: I still have AT&T because I’m too lazy to change.

Haha, college rivalries spark some of the wittiest moments! A clever sign like that is gold for both laughs and engagement. TikTok could be a great platform to amplify those creative ideas. It's perfect for quick, shareable content that grabs attention. If you’re serious about diving into it, starting with an established TikTok ads account might save time and help you reach an audience faster. It’s worth exploring, especially if you enjoy connecting with a crowd in fun, inventive ways!

I work with a lot of technical folks and it is funny how the lines split between the two.

Android has more ability to tinker, but I don't want to tinker with my primary comms device. I just need it to work. I get that iPhones are overpriced and Apple is Apple, but they pretty much just work. That's what I need.

The camera was the biggest deal for me. Security is better on iPhone...but to the point where my phone was secured away from me using it occasionally. This part may been due to me being an old.

Which school are you referring to that raised tuition by $6k? And, did not see an increase in enrollment?
Des Moines Area, Marshalltown and other areas. Summit schools in Cedar rapids increased their tuition from 6995 to 14350. Many of the K-8 Privates kept enrollment numbers the same so they didn't have to hire more staff. They used it as a way to make their salaries/benefits more competitive with public. Plus, if you raise enrollment with out more hires you lose one of the top selling factors of low student to teacher ratio. They do so to raise capital for works projects like buying/building new schools. So there won't be as large of a gain in the elementary as you can imagine let alone any growth of F/R lunch. tuition Hike.

Great info! I may switch to a t&t.
I wonder if I simply tell them that I’m LE if that would get me on first net?
If not, would you mind allowing me to borrow your badge for a day or so? Thanks in advance!
I think they make you pee in a cup to get the first net deal. You prolly gonna be stuck with regular’ol AT&T

Haha, that sign sounds like a priceless moment! Gotta love a little playful banter, especially when it's done cleverly. College rivalries bring out the best (and sometimes the funniest) in fans, and I'm sure that sign got some serious laughs!

Speaking of reaching audiences and capturing attention, have you ever considered diving into TikTok? It's an insanely popular platform these days, and it's not just for dance videos and pranks. If you've got something to say (or display via hand-written signs 😄), you can amplify that message with a TikTok ads account. Check it out, you can find ads tiktok accounts for sale to hit the ground running. It's a whole new avenue to explore youtube views, especially if you enjoy engaging with a crowd.

To answer your question, I use Samsung...cuz' I'm a grown-up. 😂

But my wife and kids love their 16 Pro Max. No issues with them at all.

I get the larger ones because it is easier to use/see/etc. I also usually get the latest one, even if the previous version is cheaper. Mainly because I don't do the upgrade every year or two thing like some people, I run mine 5-7 years on average. Not sure how often ya'll replace yours. If it is more often (3 yr or so) save some scratch and get last year's version. I have had a 15 Pro Max for about a year now. No problems with it.

I can't tell any difference in all of the goofy different cameras, etc they put on them. If you have a lot of apps or store a lot of pics, the higher storage is good. Otherwise you can save some scratch with one with less storage.

I use the shit out of mine for work, so I go more high end. Buy once cry once.

In short - screen size, storage, and then decide if you want this year's version (16) or last years (15). All the bells and whistles Apple uses to push people to refresh every year are largely toys and geek porn. I'd go with Pro Max to get the largest screen.
Thanks. I’m thinking 15 pro max would be a good option.

iPhone question

Not what you asked but consider AT&T as the provider.

I used Verizon for about 20 years because they were vastly superior, network wise. Where i live that's just not true anymore. Verizon has gotten a little worse and AT&T has gotten better. They're pretty even now and I saved some money switching.

Like you, I buy my phones so I'm not beholden to either company so there wasn't much risk if I hated AT&T. I find that I have fewer dropped calls now but that may not be true in your neck of the woods.

Caveat...I use "FirstNet" which is AT&T for first responders. Essentially that gives my phone priority if the network is overloaded so it's possible that the general network isn't as good as I believe.
