The state association hasn't recognized it, but they created their own association. More teams will drop to it. I understand if someone doesn't like it, but that doesn't mean it's not good for those schools.
2021/2022
- Classes, Districts announced March 21
- Schedules announced April 26
- Classes, Districts announced February 6
- Schedules announced March 26

I think we will see classifications come out soon but probably wont see actual districts until March, then everyone has to turn in their non district opponents list for the state to do the sched
I don't understand what takes so long!! It's now been 3 weeks since the new system was passed and somehow they still don't have the info they need?? If classes aren't released in the next couple of weeks that is ridiculous!!
Also I don't really get why it should take a month+ to get your districts after the classes are released.....that should be able to be done in a week or two at the most once you have the classes.....just takes a little urgency and work. Full schedules do take longer which is understandable.

Going with the trend it’ll be April before we know anything. Oh well, this will be my last year paying attention to this kind of stuff. One last ride then off worrying about making it to his college games.
Here is the FRL data. If anyone understands excel better than I do, we should be able to get the numbers they will use.
As far as I know, the private schools haven't put in their FRL numbers. Some close to 40 Percent FRL

I am sure it's the same as public schools where only a fraction of students are actually put in the documentation. I know I have heard of some schools requiring signing up. Just in case they are eligible
As for the schools reporting, they don't quite operate on the same deadlines and what they are required to report as public schools being private entities. same as in business (public versus privately owned). That was the big argument against vouchers is that they don't operate under the same rules and regulations as public schools (That is a whole different discussion)
I kinda already have but there are potential changes in the mix classifications that I don't want to get into. Too many variables.
But I can share what I've completed so far.
Potential Numbers
It is the same, you have to apply if you think you might be eligible, then it gets processed and granted if you qualify. So, yes, the utilization number is probably lower than the eligible number. I'm guessing it takes a little extra time to parse that out by high school (since there are some single building schools) and then report it to the state and them process it into something IHSAA can use. I'm sure it's going through lots of checks since it's the first year for the formula and nobody wants it wrong on their watch.
The cutoff for 1A and A will be interesting but if you go 36-36-36-48 and 48 then should be able to see the cut line.
It’ll be interesting where Mepo lands. The consensus locally is we will be 2A. If we are what district are we in, west (D6) or north (D5)? Also, will Williamsburg be moving up to 3A?
This is missing Boyden Hull-Rock Valley, who would be 3A probably. Also Greene County shares with Paton-Churdan for football so their BEDS would be higher. Thanks for compiling all of that info though!!
They may be working on a few tournaments they have to put on in the next few weeks….. and do you really expect to work when they are on their spring break vacations…… 😳

That’s on me using the wrong info.
It's now mostly updated. Sorry about sending out the wrong numbers. I usually like to double and triple check things, but I was in a bit of a hurry today. Also, I added BHRV. I know there are other co-ops that I don't have on the list. I'm pretty good at knowing Iowa schools and their co-ops but so much has changed recently it's giving me a headache.

I don't see Belle Plaine and I assume I heard their school board passed to go 8 man from A. thanks for putting this whole thig together.
We will have to wait till March to get anything official. I heard a radio interview with a member if the IAHSAA and they said that it will be March before they get anything out as far as classifications or districts and then April for the schedules. I would guess it would be shortly after their March board meeting.

When I heard the interview from the gentleman from the Association, he made it sound like they had the number they were needing except for the FR for the non public schools. Not that it makes a difference since I do not think that any can drop except maybe a couple. Heelan needs to be at 18%, Columbus 10% and Western 14%. That is not even including A to 8 man. Even if they fall below, they may still stay at A. I am not sure about the other 3 schools but I would say 10% is not terrible high to have for FR for Columbus. Not sure about Heelan, but I doubt Western has 14%

In article posted by Bulldog64, the spokesperson for Heelan said they have 38% of student who qualify for FRL. That number seems high but far less than the SC public schools. There are going to be some very disappointed people when private schools drop a class (stay in current class) once their FRL numbers are added.
