Looking at these scores, I am surprised by how many 20+ winning margins it looks like we are going to have.

I am reminded of BCMoores' comment over on another comment chain that the better 4A teams are much better than the weaker 4A teams which are in turn really very similar to the typical 3A teams (BCM, forgive me if I am summarizing you inaccurately, your material always impresses me and I do not want to offend you by misquoting you). Looking at these scores, several of these games are blowouts.

Johnston played Valley very tough and the game was much closer than the score indicated. It was the worst officiated game I've ever seen in favor of Valley. Valley still would have won but this ref crew should never be allowed to officiate another playoff game again.

Explain to me again why Ankeny hosted CBLC, even though the latter had a better record? I'm guessing that Ankeny being at home had much to do with the outcome of that game.

Because Ankeny was a Division Champion(#1 seed), Council Bluffs Lewis Central was a runner-up(#2 seed) from their respective divisions.
