“Yeah, we won, but everybody knows Auburn is like the little brother to Alabama,” Newton said.

Q&A with Williamsburg athlete Nile Sinn

How did the high school football season go overall?
“High school football was as good as it could’ve been. Winning state with the most fun group I’ve been a part of was pretty sweet.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“The plan for me now is to do some wrestling and give my best for that. Very excited to go out and compete at that.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I believe our team will have a good chance of being right back in the Dome. We definitely lose a lot of star power especially in the receiving corps and losing Derek Weiskopf is huge, but we have guys coming up that are ready to fill in.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“I definitely think the hardest game we play will be the Xavier game. Excited to run that one back.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“The best player I remember playing was Conlan Poynton from Solon. Pretty sure he was only a sophomore last year so he’ll definitely be solid.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“I definitely have ambitions to play a sport in college, hopefully baseball.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“Haven’t been recruited yet by any schools, hopefully coming soon though.”

What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“None.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“Not yet.”

Do you have plans for any trips soon?
“Not yet as well.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“My favorite college has always been Iowa. I used to have season tickets to the football games so I for sure have some memories there.”

Q&A with Tri-Center running back Carter Kunze

How did/is everything going football wise as of late?
“Everything is going great so far.”

Have you been pleased with your performances?
“So far I have been pleased but I know there is still a lot of work to be done.”

How do you feel about the play of your team?
“I think the play of our team was good. We were a young team so that came with some challenges but I think we overcame most of those.”

Q&A with Ogden edge rusher Cayden Dudley

How did/is everything going football wise as of late?
“Personally, I think I had the best year of football I’ve had in my whole life. I never feel like I was not a threat on the field.”

What do you feel your team can continue to improve on going forward?
“I think the weight room is going to have to be a huge point in not just the team’s offseason but mine as well. Losing a bunch of very talented seniors it’ll have to be a huge summer of everyone working hard to compete.”

Have you been pleased with your performances?
“I’m pleased with my performance in a majority of all the games we played so far but not satisfied enough to let up and not keep working to be better.”

How do you feel about the play of your team?
“I feel that as a team we could have capitalized on more of the opportunities we had this year, but then again we had a brand new coach, brand new play style, and a brand new offense so I understand the struggles we had this year.”

What are your sporting goals going forward as of now?
“Just becoming a better all-around athlete this offseason, gaining weight while staying super consistent in the weight room is also another big goal in my sporting goals.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“I’d love to play football at the next level, I mean everyone’s dream as a kid is playing in front of thousands of fans, right?”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I’m still pretty new in the recruiting process. I’ve had a few d1 coaches come and talk to me in person such as Iowa and North Dakota but still fairly new in everything with very few game day visits.”

What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“I’d say North Dakota has tried the hardest in emailing me and making an effort to talk to me.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“Yes, I went on a game day visit to Dakota Wesleyan earlier this year, [they] had a great team and fan environment.”

Do you have plans for game day trips?
“I haven’t gotten any other visit invites as of late.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“Yeah, growing up in Iowa I feel like you always had to be an Iowa fan or a State fan, always arguing with your friends about who’s better. But now as recruiting is becoming more of a legit opportunity I’ve been more open in looking at other colleges even though going to any college for a sport would be a dream come true.”
