Q&A with Webster City linebacker Keegan Hisler
What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“My off-season workouts have included weight training and speed/agility workouts with my team.”
What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“I think I’ve improved mostly in my mental game, I’ve gotten stronger and faster, but I’m able to control my emotions better than I have in the past.”
How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I think next year will be exciting. We all have pretty high hopes for what we can do this upcoming season.”
What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“I think our toughest game will be against Spencer. Last year it was close the whole time. Although we ended up losing, those close games are the ones I enjoy playing the most.”
Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“I couldn’t name a specific individual that would be the toughest. Our schedule has a lot of talented players, so I don’t want to discredit anyone.”

Q&A with Waco linebacker Louden Huisenga
What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“My workouts consist of lifting, practicing and playing football for the lowa Gators 7 on 7 team, running track, and getting in the wrestling room from time to time.”
What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“I've put on close to 20 LBs since the end of football. I'm continuing to grow in size and build on my frame. I've also been improving my hips and footwork at WR and LB.”
How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I think my team lost a lot of really talented seniors, but we still have a lot of talent coming back. A lot of guys will need to step up, and I think the guys will. I'm excited for next season to say the least.”
What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“I think two teams on our schedule are going to be great games. Fremont Mills is a good team with pretty good talent on the roster. Winfield Mount Union will be another tough team.”
Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“Cam Buffington of Winfield will be the toughest individual my team will play this season. With a big frame and great athleticism he is a great player.”

What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“Our team lifts 3 days a week and does agility/position drills on Sundays.”
What do you feel you have improved on most this off-season?
“I think that I have gotten a lot stronger and I have gotten better at reading routes on defense.”
How do you feel your team will do this football season?
“I think our team will be pretty solid this year compared to the last few years.”
What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“The toughest teams will be HMS and MMCRU.”

“The Hartley line as a group.”

How did the high school basketball season go overall?
“I thought through the year we came a long way in the year but we came up short of what we were working for.”
What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“For my last year I was going to work hard everyday on my skill to excel in sports.”
How do you feel your team will do next basketball season?
“I feel like we will be at our best, and will shock some people because we have been playing with each other since we were kids and we’re only getting better.”

What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“Doing fieldwork with the team in the morning and outside of [that] I compete in powerlifting.”
What do you feel you have improved on most this off-season?
“Leadership, getting teammates to workouts and holding people accountable also help us come together as one before the season actually starts.”
How do you feel your team will do this football season?
“We have the potential to be good. With the group of kids we got right now and the schedule we can become a playoff candidate for sure.”
What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Cedar Rapids Kennedy most definitely will be our toughest opponent. They got the best of us in previous years by a lot and they are a team who comes to not mess around.”
Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“I would say Nick Brooks of Cedar Rapids Kennedy. He is a monster on the offensive line and will be a great test to our defense to see how we line up against him.”
