Austin Simmons from Lewis Central is nowhere on your list. I have seen a handful of games (mostly Dowling and/or Valley) and I have not seen a better player than him. If he is not a 1st team all-stater then these awards are more about name/school than they are performance IMO.

I was looking over the QBs on quick stats. I was thinking the same as several of you, Austin Simmons would get my vote, at this point. Efficient, team is winning, high TD:INT ratio, runs for a lot of yards. However, the playoffs will typically determine who gets elected as all state. If a team goes real deep, those players get a lot of extra yards, TDs, etc. I hear what a lot of folks are saying about Boyle, he is a victim of his team blowing everyone out and not getting a lot of second half reps. I have seen this victimize other QBs as well in recent years.

Lots from the West.

I will third the Austin Simmons nomination. Flat out one of the best high school QB's I've ever seen play.

i will 4th the Simmons props.

Cameron Bunting back to 1000 yard seasons behind two entirely different lines. This yrs line is 5 new starters. Avg carry is up a 1.5 yds/carry from last year.

Kyle Boulanger- Waukee LB kid flat out is a hitter.

JoJo Simpson led state in sacks and top 10 in total tackles

K- Amundson Sioux City East 47 touchbacks out of 58 kicks,

Just to name a few

Heinrich should be 1st team in my opinion. Raridon 1st team for sure. Meeker good choice for 1st team and Marnin good choice as well.

QB- Rocky Lombardi WDM, Ryan Schmidt LM?

RB- Denison Harrington CF?

Lots of talent out there. Will be fun to watch playoffs this year.

Olson slow off the ball?? Not even a 2nd teamer??? I bet a lot of opposing coaches would disagree with that.

The All-State selection process already lost all credibility this summer and it involved Simmons.

He DOES deserve it in football though, I agree with that. He is the best all around HS QB I've ever seen play.

Drysdale, the kicker from Prairie, is deserving of consideration. He can kick it past a cement pond.
