Q&A with Southwest Polk offensive guard Brayden Harmon
How did the high school football season go overall?
“I think it went very well, worked a lot and got to places I wanted not just individually but as a team and a unit.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“Keep working and getting better. Perfecting what I do and where I need to be.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I think we are a team and that we will compete with whoever is in front of us and give them a battle.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“I think the Southeast Polk Rams will be our biggest challenge. Yourself is your biggest enemy.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“Again I think we, as in my brothers, will be the toughest individuals we will play against. It’s about yourself being tough on you and expecting the standard.”

Q&A with Camanche wide receiver Josh Wiersema
How did the high school football season go overall?
“It was pretty solid. I felt like I had a good junior season coming out as a Wr/db and gained first team all-district and all-eastern Iowa. As a team we were just below 500, facing some tough teams but also losing some games that we should’ve come through with. However, we got the 4th seed in the district and lost to a stacked Williamsburg team which went on to be 2a runner up.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“For football, we have summer workouts starting as soon as school is over but personally I like to lift on my own and I have AAU basketball and a lot of time in the gym ahead of me.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I feel like we will have a pretty good year next year for sure. We have a really talented QB paired with a lot of returning athletic skill guys. Our lineman are going to be solid and we’re returning a lot of our defensive guys.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Monticello will be our toughest opponent; they’re always solid and have a lot of big guys and talent.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“Preston Ries from Monticello which is pretty self-explanatory. Committed to Iowa and is a huge threat on both sides of the ball and makes a lot of plays as a QB and is obviously a monster LB.”

Q&A with Valley quarterback Trevor Willett
How did the high school football season go overall?
“I feel like I had a pretty good season, we didn’t have the record we wanted but overall not bad for a 1-8 season.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“I am getting ready to play baseball and I lift 4 times a week at school while also being on a meal plan with 2 agility and functional workouts a week.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I recently transferred to WDM Valley high school and I am extremely excited for this new season.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“We don’t have our schedule yet, however, we know that we will play Northwest and Valley. We lost to them last year so I’m pretty excited about that.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“If we end up playing Johnston, I hope to play JJ Shaw or Connor Moberly from SEP.”

Q&A with Valley offensive tackle Braylon Jenkins
How did the high school football season go overall?
“My high school football season was great. Early in the season, we lost to Urbandale which pretty much changed the course of our season. We were able to make it to the playoffs and ended up beating Dowling in the semifinal game to make it to the state championship.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“Currently I am in my track season where I throw shot put and discus. I am also staying committed to lifting and football workouts during the offseason. I lift four times a week, do 2 speed training a week, and 2 offensive lineman training a week.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“Man, I am so pumped for next season! I think we will do great and win a state championship. We have a lot of talent and guys that are willing to put in the work to be the best in the state of Iowa.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“I think Dowling or Southeast Polk will be our toughest competition this season. The Valley/Dowling rivalry is always fun and intense. Both schools really want to win that game and have bragging rights for the year!”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“I think the toughest individual player we face this season is SEP's running back CJ Phillips.”

Q&A with Panorama wide receiver Klayton Bremer
How did the high school football season go overall?
“We had our ups and downs. It was challenging at times due to injuries to our best players, but we did win a few games.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“I am currently dual-sporting for the spring in track and soccer. I also compete in 7-on-7 football with Apex Air. I work out five times per week with weights and conditioning. I love weight lifting and it helps tremendously with performance on the field.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“We have some key veteran players coming back, which should help with our leadership and success. Having our junior QB, RB, and WR returning to our offense will help us a bunch and 3/5 o-linemen back. Also returning two of our top tacklers will help hold the defense down.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“We are moving to Class A next year and have several teams we have never played before. I think we should have a fairly even playing field in our district.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“Brock Nattress, RB/CB, South Central Calhoun 2024, because he is a dual threat running back with several scoring runs and a playmaker on defense.”
