What if 3A prevails?

If SCH, DA and CRX all prevail in matchups with strong 4A teams that puts a premium on the DA/CRX Thursday contest. And sets up a potential path to showdown for the respective winner of that game and SCH. If CRX wins both WDMD and DA, then gets Solon at home...then a week 8 matchup with ICR will gather a lot of attention.

Gotta hand it to 4A districts...some schools really took advantage of establishing challenging schedules. Not the least of which is ICR taking on CRX.

It's all about good football coaching and participation and great feeder programs and culture within the schools. May the best teams win this year. I can go back sixty years and the same good teams were powers then-- SC Heelan, Iowa City, DM Dowling, Assumption (St. Ambrose), Cedar Rapids Xavier (Regis), CR Washington, Davenport Central and on and on. Now, the grandkids are the stars of those teams. East Waterloo was always a great, great team. Can they come back?

Relax.
CRX has about a .0001% chance vs Dowling.
Trenchs will be a huge mismatch. Skill positions slight mismatch.

Wow. .0001% means that if a million games were played CRX would only win one. Seems like the gas to/from the game is an inappropriate expense.

Ok - math seems tough at times. Lets use .001%.
So that would be a lighting strike to the Dowling sideline, a severe virus going thru the school, Boyle and about 6 others getting busted/hurt, or something like that for CRX to have a chance.

It's a bit of a stretch to say that a team would only win one game out of a thousand against a particular opponent--especially when both programs are just nine months removed from playing each other in a title game.

Hyperbolize much?

.001% would mean 1 in 100,000. Is math an issue in Iowa? In Illinois, math works except in elections.

Kinda misses the point. But no, math isn't a problem here. I'd take our school system over Ill any day.

I need to clarify my thoughts here.
I have alot of respect for CRX. Great coachs, good kids, etc, etc.
However being at the championship game last year (like about 14 of the last 15) it was a mismatch - especially upfront.
I have some friends with players in the CRX program and the general feeling is this team is even weaker up front - especially defense.
Thus my comments about not having to worry about CRX vs WDMD.
The other general feeling from them is if CRX can keep Shulte upright the first two games he'll be really good and they should be dome bound again unless they get a goofy playoff bracket due to thier schedule.
