Team Strengths:
Experience, quickness, and intensity
Question Marks:
Height
Overview:
With only one starter graduated, Solon may have a chance to make an impact once
again in the Eastern Iowa Hawkeye Conference. The team will likely start
slow once again after a long football season but the talent is there. Matt
Lesan led the team in scoring last year and will be back. This junior put
up 18.4 points per game and had a solid off-season traveling the country with
the Iowa Mavs. That alone will help Lesan this winter. The other
Spartan players will have to step up so that teams can't double team Lesan.
Another question mark that must be answered is post play. With Chris
Mensen graduated and playing football at Minnesota, the team lacks anyone taller
than 6-foot-3. Time will tell if anyone in-conference will be able to
exploit that.
