Overview:
If there is one team who count start the year ranked it is Grandview Park Baptist.
This team returns four starters from a 13-5 season and their top two leading
scorers. Zach Westrum not only averaged 15.6 points and 9.1 rebounds per
game, he also blocked 5.0 shots per contest as well. And that number
doesn't even count the number of altered shots. Obviously Westrum is one
senior to keep an eye on this winter. The Defenders also return a talented
guard in Erik Nilius. This junior averaged double digits last season and
will likely see those totals grow with Ryan Whitten graduated. If Grandview Park Baptist
can find consistent options outside of Nilius and Westrum, this team could be a
load to beat and may have an opportunity to make some postseason noise.
