January 6th Rioter pardoned by Trump killed by police after violent confrontation

I’m not 1137 but I usually load one in the chamber and put it under my leg so (if things don’t go well) I can get the first shot in.

LOL, this is why I used your name in the example above. 😂

P.S. If you don't have one in the chamber, it defeats the purpose of carrying a weapon in many situations.

#1 Treat all guns as if they are always loaded.

#2 Never let the muzzle cover (aim at) anything that you are not willing to destroy.

#3 Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target and you have made the decision to shoot.

#4 Be sure of your target and what lies beyond it.

#5 Make certain that your gun is secured from people who should not have access to it.

Some states require that you do so, some don't. Just know the laws where you're standing.
However, even if it's not required, it's a good idea to do so imo especially if you'll need to access the glove compartment.
I usually say something to the cop when he approaches and "introduces" himself.
I hand LEO my CCL and my DL at the same time. This used to be required by TX law, but now CCL is not required to carry concealed weapons in TX. Regardless, my goal is to make LEO as comfortable as possible. There is NO WAY I'm reaching into the glove box for anything until he approaches and 'introduces' himself, my window is down and my hands are on the steering wheel.
