January 6th, 2021 was a really bad day in DC and five individuals lost their lives. However, let’s briefly discuss the reporting on two of them, Ashli Babbitt and Brian Sicknick.

After the 1/6 riot, the MSM seemed rather disinterested in reporting the circumstances surrounding AF veteran Babbitt’s death. The unarmed Ms. Babbitt, we learned a few days ago, was fatally shot by a Capital PO. The DoJ decided not to press charges against the officer who will remain unnamed (a luxury many other police officers are not afforded after a fatal shooting). The following from a WaPo article:
“D.C. police are required by law to identify officers involved in serious uses of force within five business days of an incident. They are also required to release video from body cameras of the officers directly involved. The law only applies to D.C. police. Capitol Police are not equipped with body cameras.
The law firm representing the officer said it was keeping his name confidential because he has faced death threats.
Witthoeft, Babbitt’s brother, said it was “appalling” that the officer’s name had not been released “in this age when everything is public record.”

And then there’s the tragic story of officer Sicknick. Much reporting concerning the family, career and who can forget the highly publicized memorial service at the Capital. Initially it was reported the officer died from blunt head trauma from a thrown fire extinguisher. Then it became ingesting chemicals from an anti-bear spray. Today we learn it had nothing to do with the riot but was in fact natural causes from a stroke.

So the “insurrectionists” who were on the precipice of overthrowing the government with an armory of AR-15’s, hand-grenades and....what? You mean they found no AR rifles? Nope. No shotguns? Nope. Surely they found a handgun? Uhh no. Soo.. what did they find? stun guns, pepper spray, baseball bats and flagpoles. Hmm..ever hear the saying “never bring a knife to a gunfight”? Apparently these “terrorists” didn’t even have a knife.
And before someone says I condone what the rioters did, I didn’t and don’t, period.
