GMG lost most of their key players here is how I see it
BCLUW lost a ton as well, close game not good football though
North Tama should have better talent, they are not where they used to be though
Monte should win easily, they return enough to build on
Iowa Valley wasn't good last year, very winable game
BGM should be able to name the score
North Mahaska has been down, but I think they are better than GMG
Not sure what Lynnville Sully has coming back but have been building a program
Belle Plaine should be more physical and have a win
Colfax Mingo hasn't been good in 1A but they did have young players be main contributors last year
I'll say they will win a game somewhere, but don't see better than 2-7

The coach also got ejected for an argument with an official over on a hard hit where a defender hit one of the GMG receivers when the defender really wasn't playing the ball.

A few from BCLUW said they were excited about the win over GMG, but had indicated that might be their only win of the year.

Coach Spurlin was not on the sidelines, but I did see him in disguise in the stands.
This week is going to be a tough one. I really felt we were going to be 2-0 going into this game, but I think the motivation is still there. We are starting districts!! I think it will be a close one, with GMG having the ball last, and scoring to win it late 21-20!!

Last minute decision to play him. He is only about 40%. Should be a break out game on Friday against Monte. If you pair that with Coach Spurlin being back on the sideline, I smell a Wolverine victory!!
Monte is better than people think. They have 2 wins vs fairly average opponents, but fortunately for them.....GMG is a below average team.
Sorry, but I don't see a Wolverine win this Friday. On a side note, I have heard GMG's head coach is a decent guy, so I am actually rooting for them.

Monte is indeed 2-0 and GMG is 0-2, but I'd agree pass performance doesn't always predict future outcomes.
I do like your enthusiasm. Monte is going to control the field with their decent running game. For GMG to win, they will need to pass often and take some chances, but I am not sure the wet weather isn't going to help them out.

It's sad that a thread about a team that will go 0-9 generates the most traffic on this board.

We hit a bump in the road on Friday, and there is a lot of fighting going on within the team. That needs to stop, we still have a shot at the 2nd-4th spot in the playoffs. We have Iowa Valley at home this Friday, and we killed them last year 37-12. What a great way to get our first district win, and work towards that #2 spot! Go Wolverines!
Drugs, no... I just know how good this team is. We have a tailback/WR/QB combo that once they start clicking, I am not sure who can stop. Bryce at WR, Bridger at QB is a tough stop, but once Ryan starts running the ball like he knows how, watch out class A football!
Man you are something else haha. Gmg is horrible and will be doing good if they win 1 game. Best of luck. You are for sure the number 1 supporter of gmg football
Horrible? I doubt that! We will finish the regular season at 6-3, and in the #2 spot in our district. Don't overlook us because of our difficult non district games.
Sad, no. It just frustrates me that we sit on all of this talent, and we don't utilize them correctly. We could be very dangerous, but kids are put in bad situations, and aren't taught how to tackle and how to be disciplined football players.
Coach, no. They should however remember how I played, and try to emulate that! We just have a "catch and carry" defense that has no backbone.
