I prefer as little regulation as possible. They are notoriously inefficient and often ineffective at meeting their mandates. That is especially true when referring to lesser known, more specialized regulatory commissions.

Like you, I agree that many, if not most, are formed by best intentions. Like you, I have real life experience with some of these bodies and they typically devolve into general bullshit bureaucracy where their actions are designed to justify their existence as opposed to support the goals of their original creation.

Regulation impedes progress and should be avoided wherever and whenever possible. Yes, there are unfortunately exceptions. But even those exceptions will become inane and counterproductive.
