Emmetsburg at West Sioux based on the tiebreaker? Because Emmetsburg beat them head to head in regular season.

This is copied directly from the IAHSAA Postseason Manual:
For the third round games: (Round of 16)
Head to Head competition- winner to host
Final season district placement
Least number of district losses
Last alphabetical

Still trying to figure out why West Sioux is hosting Emmetsburg as I am pretty sure Emmetsburg beat them in a close game during the regular season. There was a three way tie for the district title in that District.

Only explanation I have is it’s 2020, not surprised by anything.

Determined by a coin flip.

Determined by a coin flip.
So they went against their own criteria to do a coin flip? When the first criteria is head to head and the winning team goes on the road it seems to just bolster everyone’s belief that the boys in Boone have no clue and just do whatever they feel like.

They did that to WB/Beckman/Cascade as well, I heard on Friday.

Emmetsburg won 36-35 in OT I believe in the regular season. It will no doubt be another great game, but Emmetsburg doesn’t get rewarded for winning the first time. Should be a high quality game.

Moore's Rankings should NEVER be used for seeding teams or determining home fields ect.

#10 SEV (8-0) has a 2 score road win over #6 SCC (7-1). There was some poor sportsmanship come out of that one by the loser.....could be an interesting rematch if they both win this week.

It's actually not - you may not like it because it doesn't sit right with you that SE Valley is behind SCC even though they beat them, that's fine. No human rankings is perfect, no computer rankings is perfect. BcMoore has been and will continue to be a good source of analysis in judging teams.
Moore rankings are seriously flawed in relation to what really happens on the field. Even SCC can attest to how flawed Moore's compilation of scores really is. SCC had a year they were champions and finished below both teams they beat in the dome.

Another example of an analytic failure. Cash pulling his starting pitcher last night during Game 6 of the World Series. He defended his actions by claiming the analytics told him it was time and ignored how well pitcher was actually throwing out on the field. HUGE mistake.

Analytics did work great last night.....for the Dodgers.

MepoDawg I would love to see your thoughts on ranking difficulty of all 1A districts from top to bottom this year. Maybe we can't do that until the champ is crowned but is definitely another interesting prediction IMO
