Whoever the real president is..tackling tough issues

Gawd damn, here's some beautiful Democrat math from that

"According to the Energy Department’s analysis, the new rules would save households about $39 over the lifespan of the new energy-efficient fan.

However, the cost to manufacturers associated with the increased equipment will total $86.6 million per year, the department said."

An extra $39 over the course of their life. Ho Lee Chit. The things I could do with all that extra cash!

Meanwhile we stockpile Ukraine with literal billions, and we hand out 700 crisp USD per household to the victims in Hawaii.

Libs are truly the worst scum.
Yet the overwhelming majority of GOP know the strategic value of Ukraine and keep voting

Lahaina will get billions in US aid as they should. . There will be a bill introduced and passé by overwhelming vote ASAP . How do I know??? Because I spent two hours with fellow Winston Co redneck (R) Rep Bob Aderholt and his staffer today at a cookout.

That doesn't mean that we have to fund an unwinnable war.

There are other ways to accomplish our goals and if Ukraine is unwilling to go along with that then yes, Ukraine is expendable.

Agreed… if it are talking about territorial concessions…but there is no treaty that Putin will honor. The UN already recognized Ukraine as a sovereign country subject to the nuclear concessions you retired to.

Pitutin is now delusional. The great fear is that they will sabotage 3 nuclear plants to create the world largest dirty bomb for territorial denial… but is a danger to Central / Eastern Europe

The other expert option I got today was that we are destroying Russias conventional military assets without actually fighting the war… trying out secret or new weapons. They suck at ground war. We know that now. They will eventually run out of tanks, missiles, artillery , experienced officers. The Black Sea fleet is next… the under water drone will eventually wipe them all out.

Not to plagiarize Vivek, but are you on the board of Lockheed Martin?

FTR Russia has another 2 or 3 years of tanks in mothballs. And as long as they have natural gas and oil to sell, North Korea and Iran will make all the missiles, shells and drones they need.

If Russia has any shortage at all, and I'm not sure that they actually do (disinformation), it's manpower. But they still have 300k troops in and around Ukraine as I type this. And Ukraine has manpower issues as well.

I got from subscription site you couldn’t access. So prosecute me. You are OK with Magats attacking police officers. I accept using plagiarized content
Actually googled your word garbage, and it came up in about 6 searches. Unfortunately,!you don’t know what I can or cannot access. Another lie of yours.

FTR Russia has another 2 or 3 years of tanks in mothballs.
More like they have enough tanks salvageable from moth balls to keep their refurbishment facilities at full capacity for 2-3 years. But at the rate they are losing these tanks, it won’t be 2-3 years before they are out of deployable tanks

The war IS winnable by Ukraine, I hope they do win it, and I hope the western world continues to provide material support. We have an Eastern European country whose people are fighting an existential threat for true freedom of their country - against a country as evil as the Nazi’s of WWII, and in some cases, worse….. and the opinion that Ukraine has Nazis too is not truly comparing the actions being committed - having skin heads with swastika tatoos isn’t the same as daily Nazi ACTIONS and war crimes being committed on a mass scale

There is no reasonable equivocation here between UKR and Russia - Russia has demonstrated real evil in targeting and destroying civilians …. Just like they still are in Syria…. Just like in Chechnya….like northern Georgia. Human life means nothing to this current regime… not even that of their own soldiers who are sent out to front lines without food, water, and medical supplies…. Who don’t even pay the $$$ to the soldiers or families in numerous cases

Long rant over - sorry

Here's a different perspective, one that my buddy from Italy has given me since they get news from multiple sources, unlike here in the U.S.;

While I am no fan of Putin and would like to see him taken out and wake up in hell, I can assure you there is NO WAY (for comparison) the U.S. would allow a puppet government put into Mexico BY THE Russians, and then allow Mexico to join China, NK, and the Russia alliance bloc of countries... and THEN have missiles aimed at the United States. This is exactly what the west has done in Ukraine.

I don't blame Putin for his actions when UK started the talk of joining NATO; the eastern UK area of Donbas et al, is a murky mix of mostly Russian speaking pro & anti-Russian citizens. Polls show both sides; some want to join Russia and some want to stay with UK.

I am no fan of Zelenski either. This is not a democracy he has set up in UK... he has had religious leaders arrested that publicly opposed him along with a number of questionable policies that we wouldn't stand for (well... maybe we would after fvking Covid masks) here. He's got his thumb on his regime just like Putin does, only less evil.

Both are bad actors, but I would prefer Zelenski over Putin x1m. My post is just to show the news we get about 'poor UK and big, bad Russia picking on them...' is not all it appears to be.

We agree on almost everything else but here we disagree.

However we do agree that Russia and Putin are evil. I just happen to believe that Zelensky is merely a less powerful evil despot.

Most pitiable, for me, is that the war isn't actually winnable. Not because Russia is unbeatable but rather because much of the eastern territory, not including Crimea, the population doesn't wish to be part of Ukraine. At the very least a large segment of that population identify as Russian.

So to "win" this war, Ukraine will have to kill these people or turn them into refugees.

I don't see where we disagree. I said I'd take Z over Putin x1m... so I hope UK prevails in pushing back Russia. However, many of those eastern bloc UK peeps don't want the UK and are probable trouble makers should the borders survive like before. So you may be right... sending them as refugees or illegals may be UK's only option (if they win this).

My other point was more to show how the U.S. would have done exactly what Putin did if my Mexico analogy were true.

I don't see where we disagree.

No I was responding to IPD...who I agree with 99.9% of the time. You and I see this very similarly.

When Russia took Crimea, I was pissed and I still am about that. However, when I considered how we'd react to a hostile foreign takeover of Mexico or Canada, or Cuba (durp), a light went on for me.

OTOH, the line that we promised Gorbachev and the Russians that "NATO wouldn't move one inch to the east," that's a lie. We never made such a promise. We promised Gorbachev that only German troops would occupy East Germany while Russian forces left the former country. Gorbachev himself noted this when asked.

Also, for clarification, I absolutely blame Putin and Russia for this war. I simply don't believe that Zelensky and Ukraine are innocent victims...and we in the west helped Russia make this mistake as well.

My solution...the Russians have to GTFO of Crimea. Ukraine is going to have to give up areas in and around the Donbas.

Depending on what you read, Crimeans are more happy now with Russia in control than with UK. This area has been highly underfunded for 15 years and it appears Putin is pushing towards some private investment / industry here.

What a mess.

I'm sure there's some of that but I don't believe that pro-Russian sentiment is as prevalent in Crimea as it is in the Donbas. It's partly true but mostly propaganda imho.

I don't think it's propaganda in Donbas.

In Russia itself I think almost all of them dislike Putin (scared shitless of him) but many in Eastern Ukraine hate Ukrainians enough to like Putin.

My Russian neighbor-

Don’t forget there were Ukrainian SS units during WW2 and Nazi-ism is still strong

It’s the most corrupt country in Europe and Zelensky has made millions even before war

Ukraine is to Russia as Mexico is to the USA - spilling across the border illegally taking benefits and jobs

Crimea and Donbas are 40% ethnic Russian
