Who has more titles over the next 10 years, Iowa City West or the field?

The field. If you look at West's record with the same coach over the past 20 years or so, most seasons they come up short. Sometimes schools have a spectacular run of ATHLETES. Pretty soon--in four years or so-- West has got to run out of Lohauses and McCaffreys.
It will also be interesting how the talent splits when the new school opens in NL, Bergy is a great coach with great results but he probably isn't the easiest guy to play for.
The field, when the high school in North Liberty opens the dynasty ends. Look at Ankeny High, havent heard much from them. It is time for WDM Valley to open another public school.
He asks for a lot as as coach and he might wear on some kids but his proven track record is impressive. If the kids buy in like they have been, it is hard to argue with his success.
I'd probably bet on the field but Iowa City West is loaded for years to come. The biggest thing will be the new high school as mentioned above.
He is a great coach and a good guy, but with the newness of the school, the fact that they are loaded and some kids might not see their opportunity to shine and get college attention then they may see a couple of key players make the move. It will be interesting to see who the new school hires and the movement. In hoops it isn't always about the stars it can be the role player who thinks they could score 15 a game if they didn't have to play lock down defense and defer to very high profile players. Bergy has done a great job of getting that buy in.
