Mepo 28 Pekin 14 mid 3rd quarter. Mepo went up 14-0 early then Pekin had a big run and the pass for TDs. Then Mepo hit hook and ladder just before half to lead 21-14. Pekin fumbled inside own 15 and Mepo took advantage. Gourley is out for the season. Mepo also down another running back, Gourley’s replacement and a starting lineman for this game.

PC scored 17 unanswered points to pull it out 24-21 in final minutes.
Regina nearly beat them with their 2nd string QB.

And, really should have beaten them, they looked like the better team. 5-6 empty trips to the red zone cost them.

Mepo beats Pekin 28-21. Very sloppy 2nd half, lots of penalties, turnovers, wasted opportunities (Pekin) and poor clock management (Mepo). So Mepo is without Gourley, fastest RB for the season. His replacement and a starting lineman were out tonight, then Osborne (all purpose guy) didn’t play the second half. Others stepped up and pulled it out.

That's true about the RPI, but I expect Regina to get the job done tonight and come away with a huge win.

Is PC just not as good as some of us expected and is Regina as mediocre as some have stated?

Or is it a bit of both?

Regina lost some senior impact players last year and are a bit young but are still capable of having a successful season. I do think PC is a really good team. It’s always going to be tough playing at Regina. PC will still have a couple testers yet this season but I expect them to pass the test. Their offense can put up points, but it will be their defense that needs to step up as the season goes on. Sounds like Regina lead by their 2nd qb had ample chances to put up a lot of points but self destructed multiple times.

PC's defense was literally what won this game. They only allowed 1 yard rushing in the entire first half. A blocked field goal kept the Regals in check, and a insane DL game was crucial as well.

PC defense wasn't that impressive I didn't think. Regina pushed it to their 20 on 5 or 6 occasions without their best player. Bad penalties and mistakes cost them. PC offense was far less explosive than I expected as well.

I don't think the DL play was insane.

Even Vegas misses one or two
