Thursday Jan. 16 games thread

Some NWIA matchups and my predictions because I've got some time today:

MOC-FV (10-1) vs Boyden-Hull (9-1)
- MOC clipped BH in the first game of the year
- Both teams are on solid winning streaks
- BH 59 - 52 MOC

Sergeant Bluff (4-5) vs Denison-Schleswig (7-3)
- SBL not playing up to their potential with their massive length
- Denison playing solid ball with their 3 losses coming to very solid clubs
- SBL find's a way to break out of their funk SBL 64 - 60 DS

South O'Brien (9-2) vs Emmetsburg (5-5)
- South O'brien is obviously a contender in 1A with 2 losses coming from very good ball clubs
- I know little about Eburg but they'll need Dunlap and Geelan to knock down a couple from deep to keep the game competitive against the gnarly 2-3 zone that is South O'Brien
- SOHS 68 - 52 Eburg

Trinity Christian (4-7) vs Central Lyon (6-5)
- Trinity is a streaky team with some length but without one of their top players since before break they'll have a tough time with CL
- CL is a younger and shorter team than TC but can toss it in from deep led by a FR Lutmer and SO Gurlemen, who has made 40 3's shooting at a 55% clip.
- TC 40 - 54 CL

Harris-Lake Park (5-7) vs Sioux Central (6-4)
- HLP with a tough loss to an at the time 1-9 MMCRU team, leading scorer Ihnen did not play in that game though and could be the difference maker in this game if he is back from whatever might be his issue.
- Sioux Central has a height advantage and good shooting from the outside.
- HLP 45 - 54 SC, Sohn does not get enough help

Hartley Melvin Sanborn (4-7) vs MMCRU (2-9)
- HMS with great size will benefit against the very youthful and small MMCRU team
- MMCRU seems to be playing a little better ball compared to earlier in the year picking up a win against HLP on Tuesday
- HMS 52 - 42 MMCRU

Unity Christian (6-4) vs Western Christian (7-2)
- Both teams are battle tested, Unity dropping 4 of their last 6 doesn't help going into this game
- Western came out of the gates slow but since has been hot and taking down very solid opponents
- UC 55 - 70 WC

Seems legit! Boyden-Hull in the 1st matchup with MOC didn't have Frick. Rumor around town has it he will be face guarding Christy(MOC's shooter). So ill take BH by 7. I'll be at this game!

Posting a strategy before a game is always a great idea. I’m not sure where you heard that but I doubt anyone from the team is going around telling others this.

Either way BH had their worst shooting performance all year the first time they matched up and they only lost by 5
