I have been posting these rankings on the General Discussion board but I have decided to post on each football board as 1. try to get a little more discussion and 2. Iowa has a lot of kids that play at this level and I feel it is a strong and competitive level from D2 to D3 to NAIA.

Grand View has to be #2. It's not even close.
Grand View is very a nice team and I am sure they will make their way up the poll but losing their first game of the year hurt them. Yes I know their opponent was ranked but still not the way they wanted to start out. Wartburg and Northwestern are no slouches and Upper Iowa has had a nice start. Lot of season left. It would be nice if more of these teams could play each other!

I'd even put Upper Iowa in the top two as well.

The Iowa Conference schools just aren't that great. Every year when one makes they playoffs, they end up getting beat by double digits in the 1st or 2nd round by a Minnesota or Wisconsin school.

I'm heading to see Upper Iowa this week against that Minnesota team. Go Peacoks

Wisconsin D3 schools are at whole different level than Iowa D3 schools. Enrollments are not on the same playing field. I am interested to see how Upper Iowa fairs this weekend, so any insight would be appreciated! I would say the Iowa Conference may not be quite as competitive as in years past but Wartburg has a very solid squad and I think would compete with the NAIA schools in the rankings.

You realize Wartburg beat 2 MN teams in the playoffs last year? Still, your point is correct, Iowa Athletic Conference champs are a long way away from the top 16 or so D3 teams.
