Cedar Rapids Prairie Tournament - April 10

Cedar Rapids Xavier 3
Norwalk 0

Interested to see how old that female center ref is and what her crew's officiating status is with the state.

Cedar Rapids Prairie 0
Norwalk 0

Very good game that started out very evenly but a hard red and 4 yellows for Norwalk proved a difficult task to overcome. No cards for Prairie.

I didn't get scores from the Assumption/Xavier game or Assumption/Prairie. Anyone else?

Norwalk over Pella last night in a close one. Garrett Crall with a blazing shot from deep for the win.

Norwalk Invitational:

Norwalk 2 Denison-Schleswig 0
Norwalk 1 Grinnell 0
Waukee 2 Norwalk 1

Waukee 3 DC-G 2
Waukee over DM Lincoln

Grinnell over CB Lewis Central
DM Lincoln over DC-G

Apologies for not remembering the scores for all of the matches. Great weekend of soccer! Waukee won the tourney.

4_1A_2_Nv,

Ballard fell to ADM, looks like it'll be Norwalk and ADM "at the beach". Should be a good matchup, but on that field anything can happen. Norwalk's depth could help in the sand while ADM just playing there and winning on the road could give them a morale boost.

I realize Ballard lost to ADM. Was that a huge upset? Being on the east side of the state, we don't really know much about what is going on the central and west side of the state other than knowing the usual suspects are normally pretty strong due to the schedules they play.

I wouldn't say 'huge upset'. Maybe an upset. Ballard's schedule helped them earn a #1 seed, home field advantage, and a great record, but the amount of weak teams they played didn't prepare them for playoff time. Don't know about ADM's schedule, but they were obviously more prepared.

ADM is a better team than their record would indicate but Ballard did beat them in the regular season. ADM has very solid coaching that tends to use the regular season to set up the playoffs and then get the win when it matters. I'm sure they made some wise adjustments from their prior meeting with Ballard.

Not an upset in my mind either, this one could go either way.

Norwalk came out very strong vs DC-G last night. Norwalk commanded the game even though the scoreboard describes otherwise. Should be a good sub state matchup...unfortunately I will not be able to be there because I will be attending the Chicago Fire vs AC Milan match instead. :)

I'm jealous. Always thought it would be a good trip to take a team to Bridgeview and see the Fire!

I've got to go with Norwalk on this one.

Have a good trip.
