Quarterfinal Predictions?

You're right Huskies, probably most were not on the field, but a lot of them were. The other thing is these kids cut their teeth playing scout team vs a state runner up team and a state championship team. Their hardest games have been played every night at practice for the last several years. I'm not gonna say they will win the title, can they ? Absolutely they can. Football can be a funny game. Kind of like when ISU handed Iowa their only loss of the year or the 85 Bears loss to Miami. The best team doesn't always win, west or east side of the state, things can happen. I have nothing but respect and admiration for all of the hard working kids and coaches state wide that give us so much joy each fall. I think it best for folks to root for their teams vs bashing others ( like an entire half of the state ). I'd hate to see someone get hurt should they fall off of that tall horse they're sittin on. Good lucks kids and coaches, stay healthy and enjoy the ride.
That's all very true. Either way it will be fun to watch this all play out. I think anyone of these 8 teams can make a run. Should be a very good match ups at the dome no matter who all wins Friday night

Bosco gives me a thrill every game they play, with the crazy touchdowns or just the 4-5 yard gain. It's like a high for me and nothing can compare. I wouldn't go all the way and compare DB to a NFL team though, but they're the top 8 man team in the nation. I am too a "Bosco Fan 4 life". Even if my Highschool career is over.

How do you think they stack up against Pella? Could they win 3A?

One of the things that inspires me about this Bosco team is that everyone counted them out at the beginning of the year and people are still counting them out. The team has been keeping their head down and holding the rope. They don’t have a superstar. They are playing as a unit and making plays for each other. This is something that Bosco hasn’t necessarily done the past couple of years, and it has been great to watch them develop throughout the year.

I hope people keep on doubting Bosco’s ability to compete. If you think that just because they haven’t played in a tough game that they will struggle in the Dome, you are fooling yourself. These kids have been a part of multiple state caliber teams whether it is in football, wrestling, or baseball. That is exactly why Jeffy is such a big supporter of Bosco on here. I hope that one day he will take a look at why Bosco has been successful and apply it to his hometown.

Love all of the Bosco talk. Really looking forward to seeing them in person. They sound like the best 8 man team ever the way some of you are talking

I was at the Bosco/TV game Monday night. I will say I am not a Bosco supporter at all but they do play a physical, downhill brand football. They get off the ball well. Mangrich runs very hard. They are not fancy or flashy at all, they just come out and hit you. That all being said they are like any team, they do have some weaknesses. Turkey did not tackle at all in the first half, they did a better job in the second half. Had TV done a better job of tackling in the first half the score MAY not have been as bad. TV was able to throw the ball with some success in the game and that may have caught Bosco off guard. I am not here to question coaching but I have to wonder why Bosco left the majority (and I do mean majority) of their starters in so late in a game that was over at half time. Four games in two weeks can take a toll on the kids. I am sure they had some reasons and in the end that is all that matter I guess. I also watched Central play and Erhardt is a very good quarterback and his receivers go get the ball. If Central can slow Bosco a little (which is a tall order) and get their passing game working it could be very interesting. Should be a great ball game, looking forward to seeing it.

Last year against NF is another example of them dominating the regular season and losing to a team from the west. Whether svoboda was hurt or not. Just another example
Losing one of/the most dynamic offensive player in the state surely affected the outcome of that one. If you want your opinion to be taken seriously, you need to acknowledge that.

So maybe minus their starting QB they were only the 2nd best team in the state last year, minus a kid with 2000 yds rushing.... state champs year before that.... and runner up year before that..... yea... you're right... they suck...not legit at all....46 wins and 2 losses since 2012...I don't know why they even play football....they should just stick to winning wrestling titles....

It's time to buckle down and give some credit to the east side of the state, there's a lot of good teams over on that side, but Don Bosco is just too good for them, Many east side teams would be able to compete with teams from the west. The east side is better then you think. Maybe there's more state championship teams from the west, but overall, the east side and Bosco are legitimate teams. They play just as hard if no harder then all of the west teams. The east scores more points, do to the fact of the high power offenses we have. Expect some great things over the next couple of years from the east, nothing but young talent over here. Many state champions to come.
