What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“Lately I have been really focused on helping my team win a state title in track. On our off days for track, I still work really heavily on complex route running and making very quick calculated cuts coming out of the backfield.”
What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“Last year was a really successful year for me. I have improved a lot on my overall physique and adding some weight and strength to my frame while maintaining my explosiveness.”
What are you trying to improve on before the football season begins?
“Personally, I want our team to become very close knit and bring back that same culture we had around the program last year in being fast, physical, relentless, and being a very smart football team.”
How do you feel your team will do this football season?
“Obviously, I’m very bias, but I know that our potential at Valley is always to still be playing really good football in November. But a lot more goes into making it deep into the playoffs then what most people see. I expect nothing less than to win.”
Who do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Our schedule is always packed full with the best teams in Iowa and rightfully so. The best competition we will face day in and day out is the people we see every day in practice.”
Who is your opponent in the season opener and how do you feel about them overall?
“We open our season with Southeast Polk at their place. Obviously, SEP is a really tough and physical team that is coached really well. Although they are going to be very young this year, I expect a competitive matchup.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“In the past four months, I have been on visits to Kansas State, Iowa State, South Dakota, North Dakota, UNI, and Northern Illinois. As of late, I have been in contact with Army West Point, Akron, North Dakota State and Toledo.”
What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“That is a very tough question because they all do a really good job of building great relationships. I do currently hold a North Dakota offer.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“In the past four months, I have been on visits to Kansas State, Iowa State, South Dakota, North Dakota, UNI, Northern Illinois, and went on a game day visit to Minnesota.”
Do you have plans for more trips soon?
“I currently don’t have any planned trips. I will be getting out to camps soon and my first stop is The Nike Opening in Washington, DC.”
What camps are you planning to do this summer?
“I have two set in stone right now. Those are North Dakota on June 20th and Kansas State on June 2nd, but I will be adding to that list after The Opening.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“I never really had a favorite, but I did have athletes that I really honed my game after and watched.”
