What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts and sports?
“I have been in the gym everyday lifting, doing basketball workouts, and getting up a ton of shots. I played golf this spring and made it to state which was a great experience.”
What are you trying to improve on the most this off-season?
“Trying to work on my ball handling and my lateral quickness. I want to be noticeably improved on defense next year.”
What AAU team are you playing for this off-season? How did the spring portion of the season go?
“I have played for Boji Select and South Dakota Attack this spring/summer. So far things have been great. I’ve been able to play against some really good competition and it’s been fun playing with unselfish guys on both teams.”
What are your goals for the AAU season?
“I really just want to continue to improve my game this summer. Obviously if I can stand out enough to have people notice my ability, that will hopefully get me some more college looks.”
How do you believe your high school basketball team will be next season?
“I feel we have a really good group of guys returning. We made tons of progress in the second half of the season last year and I think we will make some noise in the Siouxland this year.”
What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2019-2020?
“The toughest game will probably be Boyden-Hull as they went to state last year and did not lose too many guys.”
Who is the toughest individual player you will play against this winter?
“Tough to pick just one player as there are some really good players in our conference. If I had to pick, I’d say Alex Van Kalsbeek. I played with him on the Attack and he’s a big threat in the post.”
What sport do you want to play in college?
“I am working really hard to play basketball in college. I’m just looking for the right fit.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I have spoken with Mount Marty, BV and Waldorf so far and have received some interest from a few other schools.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“I went with the South Dakota Attack team and visited St. Thomas in the cities but have not checked out any other schools yet.”
What camps are you going to this summer?
“Our high school team is going to a couple of team camps this summer at St. Cloud State and NIACC.”
