NXN Heartland results/discussion

Thought I'd post the results from the Heartland NXN meet.

Iowa was well represented up in Yankton, but the first thing that caught my eye was the Girls Championship race. Most will recognize the 8th place finisher (freshman Rebekah Topham), but not many will know that the 2nd place finisher (Stephanie Jenks) is an 8th grader in the Linn-Mar feeder system (I forget which school she attends). For an 8th grade girl to run against high-school competition and blast an 18:16 for a 5k...WOW! Can't wait to see her compete next year.

Anybody that notices other performances which stand out, please share w/ the group.

That is pretty impressive for Stephanie Jenks considering that Rebekah Topham had the top time (all classes) at the state meet last month.

Overall, the state of Iowa has shown a lot of talent on the ladies side for the past few years.
