Still undefeated and very balanced. Not sure who will/can beat them from the west end of the state
No he's not.... You clearly haven't watched many EHS basketball games this yearHeelan beat East tonite, 79-74. And it wasn't really that close as Heelan held a 35-22 halftime lead. Billings scored 11 points in the first half to account for half of East's scoring. He's far and away East's best player, and they're nowhere near the same team without him.

Rees is good inside the paint and inside the paint only. He gets all his points on put backs or free throws. Elijah Hazekamp best player in MRAC. Can post up against when needed on big guys and can shoot from anywhere on the floor. He can also be point if needed. And his rebounds are off the charts. Rees is good, but definitely not the best. Jailen Billings runs the team for East, gets Rees those opportunities to shoot. Billings is best point guard in this area.

I just think to be the best you have to be an all around player... shoot from the floor, dribble, see the floor, assists, and defend. I'll give you that he's the best post in Siouxland. Just my 2 cents.Rees is definitely not the best??? That's bold! He's the leading scorer in the MRAC by more than 4 points per game. I realize stats don't mean everything but come on man. I can see why you might think Hazekamp is the best player but to say Rees is definitely not the best is a little absurd. He's for sure top two and that's a fact.
Honestly, in my opinion, it's a crap shoot. Could be East, West or AL... they can all beat each other on a given night. Just depends on who's hot come February. I don't think there is a clear favorite. So who do you like to advance to State in 4A Western Iowa?
Seed the teams for District Play
SC East (favorite from the west to make it to Des Moines)
CBAL ( Gave East a great game earlier)
SC West ( Playing Great Ball entering tournament play)
CBLC ( great record, weakest 4A schedule in the state)
SC North ( nice gym)
CBTJ ( won a few games this fall in football)
CBAL's entire starting 5 are all transfers, and they have all transferred within the past two years (pretty sure). I believe there's a few from Lewis Central, couple from Omaha (that just transferred this year I believe), and a couple more from surrounding rural districts around CB.
Coach Isaacson. I don't know him, but he must be a good basketball coach (and persuader) to get these kids to transfer there. It's no secret, they recruit around the rural districts, CB, and the Omaha area. Not trying to start a debate about it, it's what happens.
