West has been trying to schedule top competition for many years, and Muscatine is also. Getting ready for the tournament means more to a lot of schools than the win-loss record, which is becoming less important. More and more teams are "scheduling up." I think it's good strategy, but it's difficult for some schools, especially smaller schools in rural areas, to do this. When I was a kid, all the Iowa schools played in one class, and it was amazing how often the smaller schools won games.

Muscatine actually won that game 50-46 against Clark County. The score on the IAHSSA website was wrong. I think it's been corrected.
