My amateur option tells me the ATC fooked up and the Blackhawk pilots did too.

Should have had more separation
Blackhawk had no business operating there anyway
Pilots should have known better.

It sounds like the jet was following procedure until it realized there was a problem and it was too late. We will see what the final report says. Bad situation that should never have happened. Everyone on both the jet and helo should be alive today.

What I don’t understand is why was the Army conducting a heliocopter training excercise at an overcrowded airport. Somebody would have to explain that to me if I was investigating this.
