Garret Jansen has been named captain of Class 3A. He was a two-way starter for the Pella High Dutch, who captured the Class 3A state football title for the first time in school history. Jansen will continue his career at the University of Cincinnati next year as he is an early verbal commitment to the Bearcat program. Jansen led Pella's defense with 44 solo tackles, 20 of them behind the line of scrimmage, despite being double-teamed most of the time.
