Hey, kraftwerk. How ya been? You haven't polluted this board using your original name for awhile.

You still talkin' East football? Thought they put on the basketball uni's weeks ago.

Clue: you've been completely wrong in everything you've asserted so far. Let it go.

I remember seeing Heelan get manhandled like that in the 2007 title game.....
And yet, Keokuk hasn't even come close to getting to the title game since then (have they even made the playoffs?), while Heelan has returned five times since, winning two.

I know that you can never pin these types of games on one play but that poor snap to start the second half really hurt Heelan. They were up 3 and had a nice start to a drive going. It left them backed up against their own goal line and gave Pella a short field on their next drive. Pella cashed in and never looked back. Congrats to the Dutch on a great season, they were best team all year and very deserving champions.
A bigger turning point might have been late in the second quarter, when Buchmann got loose on a short flare pass and nearly ran it in from 60 (he was hauled down just short of the goal line). It was partially wiped out by a highly questionable blocking in the back call. Instead of having the ball inside the five, Heelan gets it at the 30 or so. They did get a 45 yd FG out of it, but that had 21-7 written all over it. On the ensuing Pella drive, their QB throws a couple of poor passes that could easily have been picked off, but instead went for first downs. When they made it 17-14 before the half, they had all the momentum from that point forward. In the second half, Heelan just made too many mistakes to have a good chance; the margin for error was pretty thin to begin with. Those kids have nothing to hang their heads about. At the beginning of the year, especially after a poor performance in the first game, no one thought they would be in a position to repeat as champs. With the people that both of these teams have coming back, there could very well be a rematch in '15. I would look forward to it.

Maybe they aught to head back to 4A since making the 3A title game doesn't seem to be a challenge for them....

or....maybe smallcenter (a little Freudian slip there?) is the reconstituted Mr krafty. Either way, we're dealing with about the same level of intelligence.

Cru, grow up. I was an undersized center when I played college ball. I didn't think about the other possibilities of things would think my screen name meant 10 years ago. Now go chew on some more sour grapes.

PrideorDie,

Pella has actually trailed in three other games this year (@ Carlisle, @ Newton, Washington). All were in the first half, but Pella did lead at halftime in each of those games.

I think both teams left everything on the field. Kids on both sides were pretty gassed at the end of the game. Both teams played very physical football, but both teams certainly have mistakes they wish they could take back. I still have a hard time believing that Pella turned it over 5 times, very uncharecterisic, but Heelan certainly had a lot to do with that as well. Pella's interior running game was the difference in the game. Heelan just couldn't find an answer to it, but nobody has this year.

Both teams do return a great deal of talent. Pella will be very strong, fast, and good again next year. Are losing some key seniors, but return most of the skilled players and many linemen. Also have some very good young players in the wings that got lots of experience this year due to the many blowouts. JV went undefeated this year also. Should be an exciting season next year in Dutchland again.

I also appreciated the great sportsmanship between the two teams. Lots of extending a hand to help others up and positive helmet slaps to each other.

It appears that Mr. Cruhawk can't lose without complaining and maybe needs some cheese to go with his whine. Why the sour grapes? When the shoe is on the other foot, now you want to complain about sour grapes. Your team lost, get over it.
