Here's what I thought, along your same lines for district:
It is my understanding that All-District team players are "put up" in order by their coaches based on how many wins they had in their district. Example: Every team gets 2 on the 1st team, and 2 on the 2nd team. For every win in district play you get 1 more. A team can only have 15 total players represented. So, if you go 5-0 in your district, you get 7 1st team and 7 2nd team and 1 HM, and the coach picks who those are.
I have no idea how All-Metro players are chosen. Can anyone comment?
I also understand that All-State players are sent in by their coaches. Is there a certain number here that they nominate as well based on wins, like they do for the All-District players? I know the coaches nominate, but is there a certain number they have to stick to? Then once it gets to the state, is it a vote?
I'm surprised that this isn't outlined somewhere on the IHSAA.
