High school soccer should limit the subbing at the varsity level

Other than because they have more club players than any other school..The main reason why schools like WDM Valley, IC West etc win so many games is because they can form two varsity teams and they sub 6/7 players every 15 minutes. This rule would create more balance in between teams and it would reduce the amount of time wasted every time a coach keeps subbing.

It does not have to be like in pro soccer --you go out, you don’t go in anymore, but it would be good to see:
1) Once you go out you can’t enter that half.
2) If a player needs to leave the field temporarily after a soft injury, that particular player won't be sub, the team will play with ten until he re-enters the field.
3) If a player gets a yellow card and need to be sub, that player won’t play that half anymore. I wish players could stay on the field after receiving a yellow card, but you guys know that that is not going to happen in high school.
4) Overtimes and pk’s are consider an extension of the second half so players who went out on the second half would not be able to re-enter the field and consequently take pk’s.

I truly think that this little change would keep teams honest of what they really are, it would force to have players better prepare physically and coaches to improve their tactical knowledge.

What's the point in limiting substitutions? This is high school ball. Don't take away from schools with strong soccer tradition and heritage. Less kids would go out for the sport of a select 15 were only going to see playing time. Talk about politics and off the field non sense also coming into play.

So, West High, because they have a deep bench and have developed players to jump-in when needed, should now be limited to not do that?

Why in h... would that make any sense at all?

Every other 3A school could do the same damn thing, they just don't.

That is why IC West is always there. Commitment, discipline and Good smart ooaching and hard work.

Sheeeeeeesh

It does get rediculous sometimes when a team makes no subs at all, and then goes up by 1 goal and begins subbing everytime the balls goes out just to waste time. Also weird how when they do make the subs, they sub out the person on the opposite side of the field.
