This could be one of the best first round games in the whole state. Both can put up points and in a hurry. Riley and Obert for CR-B are a very nice 1-2 combo, that can really put up yards and points in a hurry. However Danner and company can as well for the Rockets and with their passing attack I think will ultimately get them the win on the road. It’s going to come down to some late possession but I think Ar-We-Va comes out on top 56-49.
#14 East Mills @ #11 Exira/EHK
Another game that can rank right up there as one of the premier first round games in the state. East Mills has been playing well and not real far off from being a higher seed. Hopkins is one of the best backs in 8 player and is having a great season. However the Spartans led by Hansen and Buckholdt have had a very good season and you take away one play, are most likely undefeated and district champs. I think the Spartan running game is too much and they will get the win but won’t pull away till mid 4th quarter. 48-35 final!
Harris-Lake Park @ #2 Newell-Fonda
A big rematch game here as H-LP played N-F to a two point game early in the season. H-LP did pull off the #4 seed upset last year but N-F is a different #1 seed and I think really come to play in this one. They have survived a few scares but I think they will have full focus on H-LP and will win this one 42-28.
Midland @ #16 Turkey Valley
This game is between two teams trying to get more respect and both are getting there and have put together good seasons. Both teams can move the ball and is going to be a fun one! Martens for Midland can sling it around however Blazek and Hackman for Turkey Valley bring very nice balance and that’s what will get it done. Turkey Valley 56-54 in a wild one.
