Probably to early for this but this is the best time of the year. Factoring in the IAHSAA new 125 mile radius rule, here are my projections of playoff teams and host sites.

D1
LoMA - Akron Westfield
Westwood - West Sioux

D2
Wood Central - Griswold
South O'Brien - Audubon

D3
NP - Wapsie Valley (due to 125 mile rule, NP gets Wapsie the #3)
Garrigan - Denver (due to 125 mile rule, Garrigan gets #4 seed Denver)

D4
AGWSR - Belmond - Klemmee
GR - West Hancock

D5
Maq Valley - Easton Valley
Lisbon - Starmount
(due to 125 mile rule, D5 gets inner district play)

D6
Pekin - Colfax Mingo
Winfield Mt Union - Belle Plaine

D7
Monte - Lone Tree
BGM - Van Buren

D8
Mt Ayr - Pleasantville
Bedford - Earlham
(due to 125 mile, and D1 matching up with D2, D8 gets inner district play)

Two things, first off the state has said that it will be 1 v. 4 and 2 v. 3 it will be interesting to see if that holds true, secondly you are trying to put them into sister districts here, not a rule, I don't think you are too far off in these projections but not quite there.

I agree I think that may be close. I get the feeling they will lump the seeds together and you wont see as much sister districts matching up. In the far reaches of the state you may not have much choice.

If my warriors of wapsie get the 3 seed in the district im pretty sure they will get the 2 seed in district 5 which will be Lisbon or starmont in my opinion. Not going to screw a 1 seed or 3 seed and match them up. If they do the state really dropped the ball

Here is what I came up with, obviously there can be a few changes in district finishes

LoMa vs. Sioux Central
Woodbury Central vs. Tri Center
Nashua Plainfield vs. Ed-Co
AGWSR vs. Belmond Klemme
Maq Valley vs. Grundy Center
Pekin vs. Pleasantville
Montezuma vs. Winfield Mt. Union
Mount Ayr. vs. Colfax Mingo
Westwood vs. West Sioux
South O'Brien vs. West Hancock
Garrigan vs. Earlham
Bedford vs. Audubon
G-R vs. Starmont
Lisbon vs. Wapsie
Van Buren vs. Belle Plaine
BGM vs. Lone Tree

All are 1 v 4 or 2 v 3 (in my predicted finishes), and within the 125 mile rule, the closest is Earlham to Algona which is 122 miles.

Updated projections

(1-4)
LoMa vs Akron
Wood Cent vs Tri Center
NP vs Denver
GR vs West Hancock
Maq Valley vs Win Mt Union
Pekin vs North Linn
Monte vs Pleasantville
Mt Ayr vs Colfax

(2-3)
Audubon vs Westwood (inter-distric game)
South O'Brien vs West Sioux
Garrigan vs Belmond Klemmee
AGWSR vs EdCo
Lisbon vs Lone Tree
Van Buren vs Belle Plaine
BGM vs Wapsie Valley
Bedford vs Earlham

I don't think we will see that many inter-district play. You may be more likely to see a 3 play a 3 or a 2 play a 2. BUT then again none of us know what Boone is thinking. We may see some 1 v 3 to accommodate the travel distances. That may only apply the the west and southeast part of the state.

The postseason manual says all first round games will be 1v4 & 2v3. So the location of some teams will force district rematches.

Unavoidable with the 125 mile rule.

Look at #2 Bedford.

#3 from D-7 Belle Plaine (206 miles)
#3 from D-6 Winfield Mt. Union (209 miles)
#3 from D-1 Westwood, Sloan (173 miles)

All outside the 125 mile limit.

Here are the 125 mile teams for each #1 and #2 should the playoff picture play out (per BCMoore)

#1s
LoMa - Neola, Akron
WoodCent - Neola, Akron
Nashua - Britt, Denver, North Linn
GR - Denver, Britt, North Linn, Colfax, Pleasantville
Maq Valley - North Linn, Win Mt Union
Pekin - Win Mt Union, North Linn, Colfax, Denver, Pleasantville
Monte - Colfax, Pleasantville, Denver, North Linn
Mt Ayr - Pleasantville, Colfax, Neola

#2s
Audubon - Sloan, Earlham
Paulina - Hawarden, Sloan
Algona - Belmond, Hawarden(126 miles), Earlham
Ackley - Fairbank, Earlham, Belmond, Colesburg, Belle Plaine
Lisbon - Colesburg, Lone Tree, Belle Plaine, Fairbank
Keosauqua - Lone Tree, Belle Plaine
Brooklyn - Belle Plaine, Lone Tree, Fairbank, Earlham
Bedford - Earlham

The #1s would all be able to have out of district matchups and maintain the 125 mile rule. With Audubon now moving up to a projected #2 seed, Bedford is left with only Earlham as an option. Thus taking one of Garrigan's and Audubon's options. Hence Sloan becomes Audubon's only 125 mile option, making Hawarden South O'Brien's only option, and Belmond as Garrigan's only option, if the 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3 rule holds priority over interdistrict play.

That's good work. Looks like there won't be much choice of inter-district games unless some teams drop.

Pleasantville is a #4 seed and Earlham is the #3 seed.
CBSA tried to make things interesting with a win over Sloan Westwood, but even if they manage to beat Audubon and force a 3 way tie for the final two district spots they can't overcome the point differential they put themselves in.

D8

Mt. Ayr
Bedford
Earlham
Pleasantville

Winner of Tri-Center and Griswold

Here are my best guesses
