How can you disrespect the defending champs like that? Especially to a team they've defeated 61-0 and 41-14 the previous 2 seasons..
Relax...it's for fun, and if I want to support my team by letting them know someone has the confidence they can win, that's what being a fan is all about. Go Huskies!!! Besides NFV is not unbeatable.....Independence already proved that.
BTW - Oelwein had the lead in the 2nd quarter last year when they played....and were only down 21-14 at the half.
Yeah but Oelwein is no Independence and I would say NFV defeated themselves that night. Also nobody really cares if Oelwein kept it close for half the game, they care about the final result.
That seems a bit contradictory. If all that matters is the final result then no one cares if someone thinks NFV beat themselves. Like you said, the final result is all that matters and it was Indy 36, NFV 15 with the Mustangs putting up over 300 yards of offense. Sounds like you are not giving Independence credit for a dominating win.

Some D-3 observations: Columbus is starting to find that right mix of their QB running and throwing the occasional deep pass. They will beat someone this year...New Hampton always seems to get better as the year goes on, especially defensively. Well coached....Waukon sat out both its leading rusher and leading tackler last week. Trying to get healthy for playoffs....Let's remember all these kids, not just those on the winning teams, put in a lot of hard work and sacrifice to provide us entertainment on Friday nights! As always, here's hoping no injuries.
