Has anybody been to Dallas Center-Grimes' gym, and if so, does it have adequate seating to accommodate a 4A substate final of this magnitude (barring an upset, Ankeny Centennial vs. Hoover) ??? I'm curious as to why they didn't move Substate #8 (Waukee/Valley, probably) to Dowling's gym and play Substate #7 at Johnston. Maybe DCG's gym is big for a 3A school, not sure. If it's not, this is a puzzling decision!

I know Ankeny travels well...but does DSM Hoover really travel that well?

I was at a DSM Hoover state tourney game a few years ago and some of the Class 1A and 2A schools that are several hours away easily out numbered the Hoover fans that showed up.

Gym is plenty big and the facilities impressive. It is comparable to many 4A facilities.

My only issue has been that the school is located in the country (between Grimes and Dallas Center) on a hiway.
Even with law enforcement assisting it is a less than ideal traffic situation....especially after a large event when everyone wants to leave at the same time and their is only one path to leave.
