Coaching Openings

We all know WB lives Rent Free in Pines head. I’m convinced he is closet WB fan actually. He will continue to stir the pot on this all until he’s put into assisted living(based on my calculations is 15-20years away)
I'm moving forward. It's time for these kids to put it behind them and concentrate on the sports seasons at hand. FB will come soon enough.

Coach Nestor was really in a no win situation if he wanted to put his own stamp on the program. If there was anyone to blame it would be the AD who hired him not the coach who is just trying to do his thing. I know the history and tradition of West Branch and it’s always tough for a change because you have been used to the same thing for years and years and now a newcomer comes in and makes changes that people are not used to at no fault of his own as your coaching style is what it is. I don’t pretend to know the whole story and I’m sure it gets exaggerated on both sides. When you take over a program from basically a west Branch legend you should probably embrace some of the existing traditions especially if your new to area and the school but at same time that school better embrace that their will be changes to things they may not agree with as a new coach has the right to put his own stamp on the program to witch he leads. I hate to see anybody pushed out because people don’t agree with coaching style. Sometimes the best candidate is not internal or local and sometimes it is but either way let the coach do what he or she was hired to do

*Butch is an Iowa legend, not just WB

**Coach Nestor never wanted to embrace anything to do with Butch. He didn't even want to be a part of statue unveiling, and didn't want the players to be a part of it.

He was the wrong fit, and it was evident in June 2024 (let alone February 2025).

Time to move forward and concentrate on the kids and the program. It's also golf/track/soccer season. Let the kids be kids, as a wise man said ^^^

Coach Nestor would be a great assistant/position coach at Regina with his University of Iowa ties.
He should come somewhere that he'll actually be respected and valued, and he can continue to coach locally while his son attends school.

Well, it sounds like Nestor wanted to make some changes and have his own staff. Instead of the local townies that have been hanging around the program since they graduated decades ago. But, when he made the change, all the old guys threw a fit. They quit, shut down the website, complained loudly in the community and to the AD.
Loud and long enough that it appears Nestor said forget it, and may now be quitting.
So, now the boosters can pick one of their own and they can keep slapping each other on the back at Herb and Lou's.
But, we'll see what happens. Letting those old guys run off a coach in one year, because they wanted to do things their own way, should be a huge red flag to any quality candidate.
My guess is Nestor lands somewhere. He has had his feelers out for awhile.
