Speaking of Bammers….

Who’s this knucklehead? At least it sounds like he’s finally got his mind right.

Rep. Mike Rogers (R-AL), chairman of the House Armed Services Committee and vocal foe of the eight Republicans who voted to oust then-Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), had reportedly been organizing members of the Armed Services and Appropriations Committees to vote against Jordan on the floor.

Rogers reportedly had preferred working with Democrats to form a unity government over elevating Jordan to the Speakership, earning him significant criticism from conservatives and his Alabama constituency. 🤔

Class 4A

I didn't see a thread for this class so I thought I would make one. To me it is possibly the most bizarre class I have ever seen. No clear favorite, I don't know if it is because of so many good teams or so many mediocre teams. But it is kind of fun.

Here is who I see making the playoffs.

District 1
Dension Schleswig is the champ
LeMars is the runner-up
Fort Dodge has a very slim chance with a win, and a couple of upsets around the state

District 2
Western Dubuque is the champ
Marion is the runner up with a win
Decorah should be an at large
WSR very slim chance with win, but could happen

District 3
Xavier is the champ
North Scott is the runner-up

District 4
B-F should be the champ
Newton should be in
Pella vs Gilbert is for a playoff spot

District 5
ADM vs North Polk if NP wins they are champ, if ADM wins Indianola is champ, both are probably in either way
Indianola should be in
Ballard needs to win, and either Norwalk or Marion to lose, and fall enough in the RPI

District 6
Lewis Central is champ with a win, in either way
Glenwood should be in with win or loss
Norwalk is in with win, on the bubble with a loss
DCG needs to be LC and hope for a little help

So here is my prediction for qualifiers
Dension Schleswig
LeMars
Western Dubuque
Marion
Decorah
Xavier
North Scott
Boundurant Farrar
Newton
Pella
ADM
North Polk
Indianola
Lewis Central
Glenwood
Norwalk

Denison Schleswig vs ADM
Lewis Central vs LeMars

Western Dubuque vs Pella
North Scott vs Marion

North Polk vs Newton
Glenwood vs Indianola

Boundurant Farrar vs Norwalk
Xavier vs Decorah

Pella to Epworth is a haul but other then that these seem reasonable

Q&A with Northeast quarterback Gavin Kramer
How has everything with the football season been going so far?
“Things have not been going the way I had hoped. We’ve had some injuries that have really hurt the team. We have a lot of young guys who have had to step up.”

Have you been pleased with how you have played this season?
“Not really. I have been making mistakes that you just can’t make as a 3-year starter. I have to clean some things up and be better. I have the yards but that doesn’t matter if you’re not scoring points.”

How do you feel your team has played?
“We have played well at times. Again, a lot of injuries. On offense, we are able to move the ball. But we struggle once we get into the red zone.”

What do you feel your team can improve on?
“Just capitalizing on opportunities. And forcing turnovers.”

What are the keys for your team being successful going forward?
“Force turnovers and play the way we can play. We have the talent to do great things, we just have to put it all together.”

..............................................
Q&A with Keokuk quarterback Brenton Hoard
How has everything with the football season been going so far?
“Everything is going well for us, we are staying healthy and we are competing very well.”

Have you been pleased with how you have played this season?
“I am pretty pleased with how I have been playing, I’m playing very well and it’s mostly because of how my team has been performing.”

How do you feel your team has played?
“My team is playing way better this year than last year. We are all working as a team and we’re all playing solid.”

What do you feel your team can improve on?
“I feel like our team can improve the most is discipline, we sometimes don’t focus and do our own things [instead]. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.”

What are the keys for your team being successful going forward?
“Everyone stays dedicated to what the coaches are saying and working hard as a team.”

..............................................
Q&A with West Sioux quarterback Blake Wiggins
How has everything with the football season been going so far?
“Football has been going well. We have had a few injuries on the team so far but nothing that will slow us down.”

Have you been pleased with how you have played this season?
“I have been pleased with how I’ve done this season and maybe surprising myself a little bit.”

How do you feel your team has played?
“We got out to a hot start right away and unfortunately played a couple tough games but since then we have won the last 2 out of 3 games.”

What do you feel your team can improve on?
“I think one thing we can improve on is having the energy and fire to start right away. A few of the games we have had a slow start and got more energy as the night went on.”

What are the keys for your team being successful going forward?
“The key to success going forward is to work as a team and continue to have trust in one another and keep grinding.”

..............................................
Q&A with Waukee Northwest safety Andrew Eastman
How has everything with the football season been going so far?
“Everything has gone pretty good so far this year. We have been performing well on the field and have been proving that we are a top team in the state. Players have been working hard in practice, and that shows on the field when they go out there and make outstanding plays continuously.”

Have you been pleased with how you have played this season?
“I feel like I have played decent so far this season. There were a few games where I feel like I could’ve played better, but I feel like I have made plays when I needed to.”

How do you feel your team has played?
“So far I feel like this team has played well this season. We have had some good wins, such as the win over Waukee and Valley, and we keep improving every week. Even though we are doing good right now we aren’t satisfied. We know how hard it is to play in the CIML and know what it takes to win games. Our biggest motivator right now is getting a home playoff game so we are working hard week in and week out so we can be successful and get the program's first home playoff game.”

What do you feel your team can improve on?
“I feel like our team can improve on coming out faster during games. During the games against good teams we have been slow at the start and we dig ourselves into a hole. We need to come out fast against the good teams so we don’t have to worry about falling into a hole that is too big to get out of.”

What are the keys for your team being successful going forward?
“I would say the biggest thing that we need to do is just do our jobs and continue to put in the work needed to be successful. Our coaches give us good game plans every week and we just need to execute it. We need to go out there every week, work hard during practice, do what we are supposed to do during games, compete as a team, and play the way we can play. If we do those things we are going to be successful.”

Q&A with Columbus defensive lineman Russell Coil
How has everything with the football season been going so far?
“Everything with the football season has gone pretty well for me, the team is doing well.”

Have you been pleased with how you have played this season?
“I’d say I’m feeling good about my performance this season but I do feel I could have played better in a handful of our games this season.”

How do you feel your team has played?
“The team has had its ups and downs, we have played well and have played not as well as we would want. The first 3 games were not played at the caliber that I would want but the last four games we have played I think we have gotten better every game.”

What do you feel your team can improve on?
“I think that some things with the defense can be improved up front, really just getting to our assigned positions and the aggressiveness that I know that our guys have. As for the secondary I think our coverage could use a little work for some of the younger kids that have had to step up (they are doing a phenomenal job I think).”

What are the keys for your team being successful going forward?
“Our keys for success have been: just be perfect throughout the rest of our games and work on what we need to improve on for the playoffs.”
