8 Man Playoff Outlook

Here is what I see after 4 or 5 games.

District 1
1. Remsen St. Mary's
2. Woodbine
3. Newell Fonda

I went with RSM over Woodbine just due to tradition but I think that game will be close, and same with NF for 3rd they are down, but still seem better then the rest of the district.

District 2
1. Garrigan
2. GTRA
3. West Bend Mallard

The top 2 are obvious, West Bend Mallard has played the toughest schedule in the state, I expect them to win out.

District 3
1. Don Bosco
2. Kee
3. Turkey Valley

Don Bosco is easily the best team in the district, I think Kee High is a clear two, then I like Turkey Valley for 3rd over Riceville.

District 4
1. G-R
2. Janesville
3. Clarksville

G-R has a loss to a very good Don Bosco team, I think Janesville is a clear two but haven't challenged themsleves, Clarksville is down from last year but a clear #3

District 5
1. Ed-Co
2. Central City
3. Calmus Wheatland

I will be 100% honest here, this district is Ed-Co and a big mess after that, and I am not so sure but what Ed-Co is in that mess as well. It will come down to points.

District 6
1. Iowa Valley
2. WACO
3. WMU

Top 3 are pretty easy to figure out in this district

District 7
1. Belle Plaine
2. Montezuma
3. BGM

Top 3 are also very easy to figure out in this district, Belle Plaine has more impressive wins than Montezuma to this point is while I'll take them to win.

District 8
1. Lennox
2. Southeast Warren
3. Bedford

I think all 3 of these are pretty close

District 9
1. Audubon
2. St. Eds
3. Baxter

I think that 3rd spot comes down to points, which might just give it to Baxter

District 10
1. CAM
2. Fremont Mills
3. Exira-EHK

The two at large I truly don't have a clue but maybe East Mills and Riceville

Class 1A Season Outlook

To me Wilton vs Regina is a toss up, I picked Wilton before the season so I'm sticking with them, with my predictions Wilton and Regina are pretty interchangeable. I do think that there is a gap between them and West Branch this year though, then Beckman and Cascade both appear to be improved I might take Beckman just because I know Cascade has virtually no depth.

I agree with District 1 and 3 being toss ups, District 3 I think DNH, MFL or SF could all win it, then Denver is a step back. District 1 I think OABCIG is the best team, but not dominate by any means and West Sioux and Ridge View have very good coaches as well. All three of the top teams have State Championship coaches.

Class 2A Season Outlook

Here are my thoughts after four weeks

District 1
1. West Lyon
2. Western Christian
3. CL-CLR
4. Cherokee

District 2
1. Spirit Lake
2. Okoboji
3. ELC
4. GHV

District 3
1. North Fayette Valley
2. Waukon
3. Crestwood
4. Osage

District 4
1. Northeast Goose Lake
2. Anamosa
3. West Liberty
4. Monticello

District 5
1. Mid Prairie
2. Mediapolis
3. Central Lee
4. West Burlington

District 6
1. PCM
2. Jesup
3. West Marshall
4. Iowa Falls Alden

District 7
1. Van Meter
2. Clarinda
3. Chariton
4. Centerville

District 8
1. Kuemper
2. Roland Story
3. DSM Christian
4. Greene County

Matchups
West Lyon vs GHV
Spirit Lake vs Cherokee
North Fayette Valley vs Monticello
Northeast Goose Lake vs West Burlington
Mid Prairie vs Osage
PCM vs Centerville
Van Meter vs Greene County
Kuemper vs Iowa Falls Alden

Western Christian vs ELC
Okoboji vs CL/GLR
Waukon vs West Marshall
Anamosa vs Central Lee
Mediapolis vs West Liberty
Jesup vs Crestwood
Clarinda vs DSM Christian
Roland Story vs. Chariton

Predicted Top 4 (For Seeding)
West Lyon
PCM
Northeast Goose Lake (They aren't a top 4 team but the state will put them to divide up the state better)
Van Meter

Hurricane Helene

Wind and rain here in Atlanta. With our fragile local power grid I’m expecting to be out of power 12-24 hrs.

When I lived in a newer part of town these things didn’t phase me. Not where I live now. Lol
Where in Atlanta? We rarely seem to have any power issues in Dunwoody… now, Young Harris, all the time, but we get a lot of 50-60 mph wind gusts throughout the year…

Hurricane Helene

Here in Athens they are talking anywhere from 6-10” of rain in a 12 hour period with 30-40 mph sustained winds and possible tornadoes. Local power company already said to prepare for power outages. We need the rain, but not that bad. That much rain in such a short period of time is only going to runoff into the creeks and rivers

Yikes

It looks like it might visit East Tennessee as well

Hurricane Helene

Unfortunately Helene is set to become a monster in the next 36-48 hours. Any of you along the coast or southern GA need to be ready.

Also probably going to be some bad flooding in Georgia, particularly in the mountains of GA/NC/TN. Could be 8-12” (with locally higher amounts) of rain fall in about 36 hours.

On a much lesser note, Bama/UGA looks to be largely unaffected on its current course.
