NFV- Offensively and defensively been outstanding since their loss against CPU. NFV 42-7
Beckman- Short game pass defense is great, cover the bubble and out routes well as NH found out. And thats 75% of Cascade passing routes. Beckman 30-28
NH- Offense showed up against Anamosa and have a top defense. NH 28-7

Wow what a night. I thought for sure New Hampton was going win that. Looks like our district will be represented in the State Championship game again this year! I think that says a lot about our district. Good Luck to both teams and enjoy the DOME!

Semi-Final Game
Saturday November 15th @ UNI-Dome

Beckman Catholic vs. North Fayette Valley

Last time they played was on October 3rd at North Fayette Valley. NFV won 33-13 but after that game Beckman went on a 6 game winning streak. Should be a good game!

Either team could win this but the momentum says Beckman. Without a couple NH turnovers...NFV does not get the win last weekend. Down 24 7 they should have been beat. Good Luck to whichever D-3 team is in the finals. Represent!!
 
And Beckman wouldn't be in this position if NH didn't turn the ball over SEVEN times when they played them. (Did I mention 2 of those were returned for touchdowns).NH would be playing in the dome while Beckman would have been beat in the quarters.

I have NFV picked in this game, but won't be surprised if Beckman finds a way to win. Beckman is one of those teams that you know is very solid, but still always seems to outperform. I keep underestimating they and they keep surprising me.

To your turnover comment, it takes two teams to create a turnover - one to give it, one to take it. Unfortunately for New Hampton, turnovers are part of the game. New Hampton would have never come back late and beat Union if Union hadn't turned the ball over so much in that game (4 turnovers for Union, 0 for New Hampton) - but they did. NFV was on the bad side of 7 or 8 turnovers earlier in the year against CPU. So ultimately the turnover argument is not a valid one, especially in the playoffs when there is no chance of a rematch and the next game to prove differently.
 
NFV also turned the ball over on their own 20 on their first drive. They also held NH to three yards of total offense in the second half, I think you need to give them a little more credit.
 
the only reason why Beckman scored in the first game is because they started two drives inside of 10 yard line on blocked punts so really NFV i would say NFV was on top of the whole game so im saying NFV by 20
 
The underclassmen have grown since their first meeting on defense. Forcing a lot of turnovers which NFV is prone to do. i see this being a battle of defenses if Beckman get scores on their defense or special teams then I see them winning this game. Going to be fun to watch. So its going to be a great day on Saturday with four great matchups in 1A and 2A!!

I am going to cheer for Beckman but i think that NFV will win. Either way D3 will be in the state championship game! Good Luck and have fun at the DOME!!!!
