What is Jerry Pezzetti's Role?

I attended the Dowling Centennial game last night and noticed Jerry Pezzetti was on the sideline but did not appear to engage in any actual coaching. What exactly is his role? His son appears to be the coach, but all Jerry does is wander the sidelines. Surely the Ankeny school district does not actually pay him for this?
