Looks like some solid games in again in week two.

Boyden Hull Rock Valley (2A #1) @ West Lyon
Regina @ Solon
Western vs. Akron Westfield
Denver vs. Wapsie Valley
Woodward Granger @ Van Meter

I'll be really interested in the BHRV v WL game. After seeing what BHRV did you Western, this might be a good way to find out how good WL is. It seems most from the NW are placing WL to be the top 1A team from that area. Solon v Regina should be a good one too. It'll be interesting to see if Regina can bounce back.

Any1 have a prediction for the wapsie Denver game? Just curious everyone's input

No idea what to think after week 1. Would have thought Wapsie but Denver trouncing DNH certainly surprised me. I thought Denver had lost some key cogs. Seems like it should be a heck of a game.

My son plays for Alburnett and they have Wapsie the week after, so hoping for a Wapsie win and a bit of a let down week 3!

Denver by 21

Denver's JV team last year was also very good, beating some 3A schools. I think they are set up to be good for years to come. I'll take Denver by 4 touchdowns.

Too bad you guys aren't vegas because I would love to take that spread lol dam. I think it will be a lot closer than that being a rivalry game.

Denver will be in the top 4-8 teams this year. However, I am way more interested in the Regina and West Lyon games. I'm not sure if a win by Denver, even over a rival, will tell us as much about them as the outcomes of the Regina and West Lyon games.

I think that this will be a great test for BHRV and West Lyon. West Lyon is really, really good and I think that Western Christian is going to be down this year so BHRV's win last week doesn't tell you much. With that being said, this should be a good one but I am not sure that BHRV can hang with West Lyon's physicality as this game wears on. I'll take West Lyon by 10. Looking forward to it though. Whats your take USFhawk?

BHRV is good. They are deep and will give the ball to a lot of different guys that all can make plays. Very evenly matched game to me, both teams are talented. This one comes down to execution and turnovers. RVBH has the depth advantage and West Lyon has the experience advantage. Should be a good one. Statement game for both teams. Who is going to make the statement?

Regina still has 2 of their top o-linemen out, and their replacements aren't very good. I think Solon will expose those holes and plug up the run like Xavier did last week. For this reason I say Solon wins by 7.

I'm taking BHRV over West Lyon. BHRV is an elite team this year.

I hadn't heard that. I heard they were a bit banged up. Who is out?

All-stater Cole White is out, and I think Eckhoff is out as well. Looks like Luke Stein is out now too with a rolled ankle, so 3 o-line starters are sidelined for Regina right now. Regina used to have enough depth that this wouldn't be a problem, but not anymore. I'm expecting the Solon v Regina game to get ugly pretty soon.

The Regals will be fine in 1A ball. Very organized offense and good coaching. I would find it hard to believe they will see a defense all season anywhere close to the one they saw tonight. Although, I thought that same thing last week when I watched the Xavier game.

Pnation I wish we could have bet lol. That 4 td prediction of Denver over wapsie was opposite. Denver scored on the jv lol wit no time left in a 13 yard td pass. Should have been a shut out

I agree Solon and Xavier will be the two best teams Regina plays this season. But I'm not so sure Regina will be fine in 1A ball. They are very beatable this year. Qb play is highly suspect and they just lack playmakers in general with the exception of a few studs. Lack of depth on the line has also been a serious issue for them in these first two games.

Pella Christian and West Lyon are both playing great football right now. Van Meter should be up there too. Time will tell but I wouldn't be surprised if Regina doesn't make the dome this year.

Regina has not looked good yet. The competition has a lot to do with that. I've seen both games so far and Xavier and Solon in my opinion, are both Dome-caliber teams. I was impressed with both. Regina will likely now roll a few teams in their district. Great coaching staff, still have some very good players, I think they will be fine in 1A. They may not blow everyone out like in previous years, but they will likely be as good as anyone in 1A. I would look for them to get better quickly.

Maybe one of the reasons they have had such a good record on JV is because they play multiple varsity starters.
