Southeast Warren (5-0/3-0) at Lamoni (4-1/2-1)

A couple of others I see

5A
SC East vs CB AL: Not a name brand game, but the winner still has a chance at the playoffs, the loser is probably out
Valley vs Waukee NW: Valley is favored, but I could see this being a good game.
Bettendorf vs CR Kennedy: Bett better not overlook Kennedy, they play everyone tough.

4A
Fort Dodge vs Storm Lake: Really a light schedule for "important" games in 4A, but Storm Lake vs Fort Dodge could matter for that district race.

3A
SBL vs. MOC FV: I was pretty high on MOC preseason, and they haven't been bad, but could they take down one of the more surprising 5-0 teams?
Mount Vernon vs Assumption: I fully expect Mount Vernon to win, but I actually think that this is still the district title game.

2A
There are a bunch of games who could determine the 3 or 4 spot in the district this week, like Albia vs Davis County which I believe is a trophy game?

Mediapolis vs. Mid Prairie: Probably the toughest test Mid Prairie will have in district.

1A
South Hamilton vs Ogden: Probably for the right to host a first round playoff game
Red Oak vs Shennandoah: I believe this is a pretty big rivalry and it is probably for the last playoff spot in the district

A
Belmond Klemme vs Lake Mills: Should be for the 4th spot in the district
Mount Ayr vs Lynnville Sully: For the right to host a playoff game
Wayne vs. North Mahaska: For the 4th spot and a playoff berth

8man
Gladbrook Reinbeck vs BGM: Non District but could be a fun game
Iowa Valley vs WMU: I believe this is the district title game

These ones caught my eye this morning:
DNH @ MFL = District title game
Central Springs @ AP = Does AP win another game?
Clear Lake @ Algona = Some big names
Lake Mills @ Belmond Klemme = Winner gets 4th and qualifies most likely
Grundy Center @ South Hardin = Can South Hardin beat Grundy? BCMoore says Yes...almost a 9 point favorite
Newman @ St. Ansgar = Newman has the athletes to beat them but do they have the beef to win in the trenches?

Although South Hardin has some very good athletes and tough kids, Grundy Center wins comfortably in the battle of unbeatens. More discipline, better coaching. Coaching is the most important factor in success of football programs, or any HS sports program for that matter. Why else would the same programs dominate year after year, they can't recruit like colleges (and Catholic schools near Iowa City)....hahahaha J/K guys

Grundy 35
S Hardin 7

The Clear Lake @ Algona game should be a fun one to watch. Several D1 players (Manske & Meyer) putting on a show in this one, I'm betting we see a shoot out.

Algona 38
Clear Lake 31

Another blowout in St. Ansgar. Newman isn't that good, just a weak schedule up to this point.
St. Ansgar 42
Newman 14

I agree with your analysis of those games other than I think South Hardin will keep it a little closer than that, maybe 2 touchdowns.

If you want to talk about recruiting by schools nearby Iowa City, just go ahead and ask.

They continue to live Rent Free in your head. Glad you got your daily obsession with WB out of your system. See you at the game tonight. I’ll be the guy wearing West Branch stuff, I’ll look for you.

St. Ansgar is up 35-0 after 1 over Newman. Newman does have a lot of starters out due to injury.

Newman has thrown two interceptions and had a fumble on a kick return.

Also, the younger kids for St ansgar have played two jv games this week so they won't be able to play tonight. The varsity starters and backups will be playing most of the game as a result.

St ansgar now up 47-0 at the half. Korben Michels has 216 yards on only 7 carries.

Newman had 4 turnovers in the 1st half. St ansgar missed their 6th PAT and the 7th was blocked.

Newman has had some good plays and a decent drive that stalled out, but with the injuries are simply over matched, especially on the defensive side.

Newman reached the redzone in the 4th, but they turned the ball over on downs. St. Ansgar wins 60-0.

Benton 21, Solon 20.
60+ yd TD pass for Benton with 1:10 left for the final margin.

And you continue to respond so it must be an even rent free exchange. Pretty uneventful game this evening. Why did they not run Gates very much in the first half?

Pella 35, Newton 28.
Newton scored late but couldn't recover the onside kick.

Glad to hear the ‘Iowa Sports Network’ get their 8 commercials in with Dowling going into the 2nd overtime. Thankfully I now know the three songs that were thumbed up this week from Bon Jovi or someone

From my perspective WB line was getting blown up. So they would try to pass but the line was actually getting blown up more trying to pass block. WB played that 1st half tough until the mental lapse the last 45 seconds of the half . They were giving Regina all they could handle. Came out the 2nd half and had Regina at 4th 37. Regina punted and WB muffed the punt. It was all downhill from there. That crushed WB. That really young Regina team beat a young WB team.

Kudos to BCLUW for a big win over martensdale st Mary. Snapping a losing streak and getting in the W column.
DNH pounded MFL. I thought MFL might be a bit more competitive in that game
GC handled SouthHardin.
Wilton looks legit. I know cascade is a bit down this year but they always put up a fight.
Pella Christian must’ve fought SK pretty hard putting 21 on the board. Unless that was late in the game vs JV. But I’m guessing they were able to move the ball.
Treynor v underwood looked like a nail biter. Both must be decent

Anyway. 1A looks like things are funneling down to the contenders
