3. Van Meter
4. Bellevue
5. West Sioux
6. South Central Calhoun
7. Mediapolis
8. West Lyon
9. Sumner-Fredericksburg
10. Pella Christian
Others receiving votes: Wilton, I-35, North Linn, Regina Iowa City, Treynor, Sigourney-Keota, South Hamilton
With non-district play over, we are starting to see a handful of teams rising to the top, but it’s still tough to narrow it down to just a few that have a legitimate title shot. With district play beginning here in week 5, things will get sorted out rather quickly. Even though PC got handled by PCM and are 2-2, I’m still keeping them in the top 10 based on their schedule so far and the fact they have a really dangerous and talented team. The top 3 stayed the same and there was a bit of shuffling after that PC loss. West Sioux has been looking fantastic since their opening loss to BHRV. One team that’s surprised me has been Sum-Fred as they make an appearance into the top 10 for the first time. I don’t know if their competition has been the toughest, but they are a veteran group that seems to be rolling along. The will get AP at home in week 8 that should decide the district. District play is now here, and it’s going to be an exciting final 5 weeks of the regular season with some awesome games to decide who moves on. Can’t wait!
