Hate to introduce scientific background into this discussion.. but fecal viral testing of wastewater is much more indicative of the infection rate of a population grouping since the infection has to be systemic in order to pass through the acidic contents of the stomach ( which kills most viruses) . The same testing is done for other diseases like polio and cholera.

Because wastewater treat plants connections are so locally confined, it’s possible to rate viral load by zip code and even a city block. . It’s going to be a good indicator in the future for community health related to COVID as well as future pathogens.

Oh now a visit to China requires an azz swab.... hell the place never appealed before and the azz swab ain't gonna help. Much of the worlds viruses originate in China and now they need an azz swab on the rebound? Awesome.
