Huge Game...Decorah fighting for a spot in the playoffs and WD fighting for the D3 title.
Anybody know if Lammers and Roussell are going to play for the Hawks?

Thinking Decorah on this one, as a week or two off can make a big difference. I wonder if West Delaware's timing and such will be present, not to mention stamina, etc. Also, Decorah will have a good game plan, as they always do, and a really, really good reason to play inspired ball.

Watched the game last night,no doubt in my mind the Decorah coaches cost their kids the game ! Lots of stupid plays called !Post always preaches how "blue collar " the Vikings are,how they "out work" there opponents and don't "beat themselves ".Too bad he went away from that philosophy last night.

Apart from the fake field goal attempt and the decision to go for two to "win the game outright in regulation." Decorah's play calling against West Delaware was much the same as it has been for most of coach Post's tenure in Decorah. I would have to disagree with the op and state that the play calling was working. West Delaware was surrendering more and more yardage as the game wore on and as a result Decorah put up 27 points against a very solid highly ranked team that coming into this contest was surrendering only 11 points a game. As a result, Decorah had a chance to win the game late. West Delaware simply read the fake and executed better than Decorah on the two point try. It was a high risk play and although I would have preferred to see Decorah try for two out their regular offense I did agree with the coach's decision to try win the game in regulation.

As an outside observer, I just want to say Coach Post made a huge, gutsy call to go for the two points and the win with a playoff spot on the line. Decorah's got a proud program with plenty of tradition. Missing the playoffs isn't usually in the cards for the Vikings. When push came to shove, Coach Post decided not to kick the point and try to take it to overtime, but rolled the dice to try to get the lead right there. He did that knowing that two-point try would probably determine whether or not they make the playoffs.

Takes a lot of intestinal fortitude to make that call.
